Ultra Rapid Fire bows out

Like a manatee waving a spatula as he fades into the distance, Ultra Rapid Fire is saying sayonara. U.R.F. was never meant to be more than an April Fool’s gag, but the community’s response has been anything but a joke, so goodbyes need not be final.

Ultra Rapid Fire will come back in one form or another, but like all Featured Game Modes it wasn’t designed to live forever. Later this week, we’ll be sharing more of our philosophy around Featured Game Modes and a behind-the-curtain look at the development of U.R.F. itself. In the meantime, recap all of the top community plays as well as professional Ultra Rapid Fire action.

Over 9000% agree. This was by far one of the most fun additions to LoL ever! I was able to convince people who had not played in ages to tried it and they loved every second of it! You do yourself a great disservice by making this a limited game mode.

It was the most fun addition to LoL made by Riot Games; however, last time they tried making something permanent and "fun" it was Dominion and was a total failure.

Totally agreed! :) Plus, the mode was great for practicing some combos (like the W-Q combo on Alistar , well that was till he was banned :( )

I disagree, you make it permanent and it just takes away from what makes it special. Besides, it's horribly unbalanced and frustrating at times.

The point of the mode isn't for it to be balanced, as it shouldn't be. Want a more balanced mode? Well there's normals and rank just right up around the alley. This is for people to relax from the stressful games of rank/normal and just have crazy stupid nonstop fun.

I bought multiple champions with RP so I'd have a chance to use them in URF. They actually made money off me with URF being the sole reason; That's a pretty solid reason for them to permanently add the mode to me!

Please keep this mode riot, It Revive 'd my will to keep playing league. There's no logical reason why you can't keep it in custom games atleast same with any other special game mode. You have one of the most popular games in the world with a huge support staff and you're telling me you can't put these modes in custom? I simply refuse to believe that. Oh well then, time to quit til either this mode comes back or the next special mode, i don't play normals anymore because they are boring. well time to find something else to do in the meantime.

URF Fridays please!!!!!

Enable URF for 24 hours every Friday. It will keep us playing the way the game was meant to be played, but also gives us a nice way to destress weekly! Please Riot!

I feel the success of U.R.F was due to the stress free environment it created, as everyone was there to REALLY have fun, not just win. There really is no loosing in U.R.F.

Unless of course you go 1v1 against a Ryze.

Stress free environment? Person picks OP Burst Champ Scores a lot of kills Trash talks like he is the greatest player the game has ever seen. People that do well in urf often were found trash talking a LOT more than they would do in normal SR I found.

It was good for relieving stress, but it most certainly was not stress free. Playing against a jayce lane that severely out ranges you so you basically sit there and take burst to the face every few seconds. Playing with a Zed that would have his shadow up 100% of the time and would just have to press R on you or E twice.. *Some matchups just straight up weren't fun to play against. I'm looking at you: nidalee,Katarina (100% ult uptime as long as 1 kill scored.),wukong,sona,ap shaco,ap shen, lux (there was never a second where she could not cast something), Lulu,Cho'Gath (almost a 100% knock up), Alistar , Maokai(Needed shaco's JITB limiter on his saplings), Riven, soraka, twisted fate (good ones could just spam Q and use the ult to perma detect cloaks),rengar,urgot,ap ezreal, leblanc, zed, jayce, hecarim, eve, ap skarner, karma, brand, galio Don't even get me started on fizz. E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E "LOL IM SO GOOD AT THIS GAME" or "Y U GUIZ SO BAD LOL? Y U CANT KILL ME?" E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E

More champs are viable in the broken urf mode than are viable in the standard mode.

That's something Riot needs to look into.

A game mode, not the mode we deserved, but the mode we needed, nothing less than a map, shining.

URF, "U either die a mode or live long enough to see urself become a banned. I can be that because i am not a game map... i am whatever the lol community needs me to be... u will hunt me, u will condemn me, set the dogs on me. because thats what needs to happen."

I for one only have time to play short games and can't spend upwards of 50mins playing. Always nice when faster paced games are introduced. Please consider having URF make a permanent return.
