TLDR: We’re releasing an update to the Community Events pages today that makes community-run tournaments easier to create, easier to find and easier to run. Read on to learn more!

Whether you play League to satisfy your competitive cravings or to just relax and have some fun with friends, taking part in community-run tournaments makes League enjoyable in a whole new way. This latest site update makes finding and getting together with like-minded League aficionados easier than ever.

The first thing you’ll probably notice, besides the shiny new graphics, is how easy it is to find the events you’re looking for. Use the filters to find the type of tournament that fits your style and location and click Register. There’s another step or two, but it’s pretty much that easy.

I join one of these communities and a couple months later they botched a prize pool, so they ended that community and made a new one... my friend was on the receiving end of this botched prize pool and still has not gotten his full reward. I also have proof of harassment to some of the people in the community and I think the way they handled things were very strange and yet somehow they were able to hand out prizes all the time and have regular tournaments.

If you are just going to give this power of running a community to some random people to manage money and to hand out prizes, maybe checking up on them should be another priority.

Riot would rather sit back and do nothing while taking no responsibility for the tournament holder just typing in the codes as soon as they mail them to him. That being said, its really the only way they can keep the tournaments going, as soon as there becomes too much regulation, no one will want to go through the trouble to host or play in one unless its a riot sanctioned event, they can't monitor EVERY small 5v5 match that gets acknowledged as a tournament, itd be foolish to even try. you should be glad they're this free with just trusting randoms and handing out actual prizes without even knowing whether or not the tournament will take place.

Seeing as how i fairly portrayed both sides of the arguement, this is an obvious generic response fishing for likes. I was fair to both riot, and the bad tournament holders, but god knows since you are in a "clan" your pure opinion has merit.

Just because that hasn't happened in your Community, leader guy, doesn't mean what he is saying is "not accurate", it simply means it happened to him & he isn't in your Community. Simple.

I am posting something that has happened. I absolutely love Riot, I posted this so that the community can see what has happened when you give random people power and money to hand out to random people.

There are good communities out there, since then I have joined another one that is so much better. But a community that botched up so bad they deleted a TS server and made a whole new server and re-branded, this is the facts I am giving. I am leaving my bias out because I hate bias.

As a community leader you should be careful what you say and do because everyone depends to keep that community afloat and be accountable and fair. Just being rude and getting "butt hurt" over what someone posted about another community is not targeting your community. No names of any community but Riot has been mentioned and your comment was blind aimed and unnecessary. If I ever found out what community you ran, I would steer clear from it.

If this is not accurate, what do you know about this said community that I have not named that you know? To say that I am in fact that I am being bias toward Riot, what makes you assume I have this said bias. I am just telling Riot what one of their communities has done and am informing them that stuff goes down that they don't know about that they sponsor.

If you sponsor someone, you have to make sure that they treat your brand and represent your name. This unnamed community has not been representing Riot very well. What is biased about that?

I'm not posting this for likes so I can be proud that I am popular, I posted this because this has happened to a community that was part of and supposedly sponsored by Riot. Me and my friends join this community, participated and had fun. BUT that does not excuse some of the activity that was allowed and the power given to some of the admins. There was an admin who was harassing one of my friends and I have the conversation saved. And I have my other suspicions about the community but I have no proof so I have left those parts out.

All I want is Riot to get better and in order to get better, you have to acknowledge that something is wrong and then find a solution.

Team Builder will be back soon for lower levels, they're just going through testing. I asked when it will be back, but I haven't gotten an answer (it's been about 15 minutes).

Many of these communities just ban you for being a "smurf" with no talking to or warning or anything(I wasn't even smurfing i just had good games) and give Riot a bad name when they do a bad job. I also suggest checking on on them undercover or something like that.

They've been doing Community tournaments for a LONG LONG LONG time they only did this new page and are promoting them now that they are lowering prizing and making all tournaments go to pre-registration http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/esports/wGjBy44j-letter-to-riot-community-prized-events-feedback there's the full thread. They are lowering prize payouts from 40k to 5k RP. full story there.

It'll take a while to get PBE access. Mine took about five months I think? I don't remember what patch I sent it in, but I got it between Bard and Rek'sai's releases iirc.

You are asking people to pre-register without the site working correctly yet. Absolute Gaming is already approved for MULTIPLE tournaments using the new system although we are not listed. Here is an example of one. http://i.gyazo.com/ad9631a8f6e335976cfbb42a2562dbd1.png

How are we supposed to ask people to pre-register when your site isn't listing communities correctly if at all?

One slight recommendation for improvement: add a filter by map type.

Can you make it searchable by Map and by Time? So many of the tournaments are at 4pm Pacific and almost all of them are on Summoner's Rift.

I'd like to be able to search for tournaments that start after I get home from work at 5:45 Pacific.

Also I'm a big fan of Twisted Treeline and Crystal Scar- Being able to search for those would be a big help

There should be a requirement to include tournament time as well as date. Some of us work during the night so tournaments during the day are better.

Please convert the Date to a LINK! It only currently shows the same 6 tournaments and it limits the exposure of all other tournaments happening during the same day. The filter at the top is nice and it helps but nowadays when people read the TL;DR on paragraph long post, asking them to do that to find other tournaments asides from the 6 big ones that run all day, everyday, is near impossible.
