Hey all! Some familiar faces this patch as we continue tuning on bullies like Kayle, Sylas, and Urgot. We also got some QoL changes to things like Predator, Immolate items, and the Practice Tool, as well as some updates to the vision row of Domination runes.

4/9/2019 Bugfix

Braum

BUGFIX Fixed a bug where Braum's E - Unbreakable did not reduce damage from certain multi-hit abilities.

4/5/2019 Bugfix

Vi

BUGFIX Fixed a bug where after casting E - Excessive Force on a target who is moving away from her, Vi would be locked into walking towards them for ~.25 - .5 seconds.

We're following up with more adjustments to Kayle to make her late-game spikes more reliant on doing well and getting items rather than coasting off raw power from levels.

Even with 9.4's attack speed buff, Azir still has room to grow without becoming a pro play nightmare. Probably.

Third line: Making sure he doesn't go nuts by keeping the uptime roughly similar.

We're hitting Lissandra's waveclear so she can't consistently out-shove her opponents.

Health regen growth decreased. W ratio decreased.

Lookin' good and feelin' fine. But maybe a little too fine, especially in mid. Trimming off some excess power from her update in 9.5. While we're aiming mainly at mid-lane Morg, support will also be affected.

Rumble

W movement speed increased. R cooldown decreased.

We're giving Rumble some love so he can compete better against other top laners.

R - The Equalizer

Sylas

Health regen decreased. W damage decreased. E cooldown increased early.

We're continuing with the adjustments to Sylas since he’s become frustrating to deal with in all levels of play. These nerfs are aimed around creating weaknesses in his laning phase so that he can't be both mobile and have higher all-in damage and healing than his opponent

Minion and monster aura damage increased.

We're helping tank junglers feel a more meaningful power spike upon completing Cinderhulk and bringing it closer to the other jungle enchants in clear speed.
GRILLED RAZORBEAK Deals 200% 300% bonus magic damage to minions and monsters

The Dark Seal

Ability power, sell-back value decreased.

Dark Seal is meant to be a greedy purchase to eventually upgrade into an even greedier Soulstealer, but its stat efficiency is so high and its sell-back value so good it’s become the correct choice to buy (sometimes in multiples) in too many situations.

Wit's End

Attack speed, magic resist, cost increased. Now grants movement speed. On-hit damage lower early, higher late. No longer steals magic resist but now heals on-hit.

Making Wit's End more slot-efficient for attack speed bruisers. It can now fill the gap where one would consider Maw of Malmortius, but can't due to the overlap in passives with Sterak's Gage (Lifeline). It'll also be less of an early-rush item now that its new UNIQUE effect scales better throughout the game.

Max stacks decreased, total stats unchanged. Kills and assists both grant one stack; no longer stacks off wards.

Eyeball Collection's 30 adaptive force has been crowding out Ghost Poro and Zombie Ward. All three runes now grant the same adaptive force bonuses, so your choice is now how you want to stack those bonuses up rather than what kind of bonus you want. Eyeball Collection is about killing people.

Ghost Poro

Your wards spawn a ghost poro and grant stacks of adaptive force when they expire. Gain extra adaptive force at full stacks.

removedHAUNTED TRINKET Standing in brush no longer converts your trinket into a Ghost Poro. Placing a Ghost Poro in enemy territory no longer grants adaptive force.
newSPOOKY Your wards now spawn a Ghost Poro when they expire, giving vision in the area until it's scared away be enemy champions. Wards killed by enemies don't spawn Ghost Poros.
newBOO Spawning a Ghost Poro grants 2 adaptive force up to 10 times (max 20). At 10 Ghost Poro spawns, gain an additional 10 adaptive force.

No longer grants on-hit damage versus champions when clearing a ward. Ward clears now grant stacks of adaptive force. Gain extra adaptive force at full stacks.

Damage versus extremely high health targets increased.

It was still bad even after 9.5's buff.
DAMAGE 5-12% 5-15% (still at 10-100% max health difference)

Demolish

Max health ratio increased.

It was bad compared to almost all other minor runes.
DAMAGE 100 (+30% max health) 100 (+35% max health)

Overgrowth

Completion bonus grants more max health.

Making it better, especially for people who actually build health items.
COMPLETION BONUS 2.5% max health increase 3.5% max health increase

Predator

Look, a small usability improvement!
ZOOM The monster burn effect of Hunter's Talisman and its upgrades no longer interrupts Predator's channel

Ultimate Hunter

Ult cooldown reduction increased.

It was bad.
ULT COOLDOWN REDUCTION 5 (+2% per stack), max 15% 5 (+3% per stack), max 20%

newSUMMONER SPELL Barrier has been replaced by Backtrack. When activated, Backtrack gives players a small blue shield (less powerful than Barrier) and then 3 seconds later zooms them back towards their Fountain

  • Fixed a bug where Akali's W - Twilight Shroud's cooldown was incorrectly calculated with her cooldown reduction
  • Jarvan IV's R - Cataclysm cast VO lines no longer plays during its recast
  • Buffs auras on Battlecast Alpha Skarner, Zombie Brand, AstroNautilus, Star Guardian Jinx, Pool Party Fiora, Underworld Wukong, Snow Day Malzahar, Pool Party Leona, PROJECT: Leona, and Guardian of the Sands Rammus now properly follow the models during certain animations
  • Morgana's R - Soul Shackles no longer hits targets if the effect ends prematurely by her death
  • Vi's E - Excessive Force no longer fizzles when Phantom Hit triggers on Guinsoo's Rageblade
  • Fixed a bug where Taliyah's E - Unraveled Earth was scaling incorrectly

I honestly wish Mid Lane Morgana would stop being hit so much. I'm not saying she shouldn't be able to be a support champion (because her kit wholeheartedly supports it), but the fact that she started as a Mid Laner and got forcefully shoved into the Support role bothers me so much. And it only feels like Riot doesn't WANT her to be a Mid Laner at all, seeing as everytime her Mid Lane seems to pick back up to any reasonable level, they nerf her again. I just genuinely want to know why that is.

Illaoi is a champion that not a lot of people main and when it came to making her a skin you asked players to vote on the next skin, but when it comes to a niche champion like Ivern you give us Dunkmaster Ivern. Why didn't we get a chance to vote instead of giving us this garbage?

ALSO why does Trist get the votable skin? She has like 30 skins. You could've released any of those and people would've been happy. SMH.

This skin is horrible and should be canned.

I normally don't post on these, but there is one change I don't agree with.

new:OUCH Damage from champions further than 900 units away is reduced by 15%

ARAM is already receiving bans, why should champions whose kit focuses and has strength in longer ranges get punished for playing correctly?

I think a solid compromise would be: Damage from champions further than 900 units away is reduced by 15% for abilities that aren't their ultimate ability. This still helps versus Jayce Q, Nidalee Q, Xerath Q, Varus Q, etc. But it doesn't completely gut champions that actually rely on their range.

If left as is, it will just feel like you're getting punished for no reason with a 15% damage nerf if you're playing a champion who only has longer range abilities with weaknesses when they're engaged on.

This week we added more damage to Dr. Mundo Azir Wit's End Ghost Poro Zombie Ward Cut Down

I will say I like the changes to some of the tanks (focusing on utility and availability of abilities rather than just, slap some damage on that). And I like the buff on cinderhulk, but I don't feel like it'll be on that impact without the same improvements to bami's. Reason being, that tank junglers generally have slower clears, especially on single monsters (like gromp) in the early game. When you have champs that are clearing rapidly at the top of the ranked ladder (Rek'Sai, Karthus, Vi, Udyr) AND have decent gank power to boot, it feels like most tank junglers don't really have a place in the meta (aside from Sej and Nunu, who have pretty good clear speeds because of their abilities having that single target damage).

I get that Dark seal was a bit strong but now it's completely gutted. Seer percentages alone it was Nerfed 33% initial ap and 43% sellback value yikes.. RIP Dark Seal.

Does this patch possibly fix the random lag spikes that have been happening to a lot of people? Over the last two weeks I've been encountering very brief 1 second frame drops/packet losses and I was hoping this resolved it. It severely impacts some games and I've been holding off on ranked since I noticed the issue. I've tested my internet and my connection, neither of those have had any issue. A person I was playing a game with also experienced a spike at the exact same time as me, which further leads me to believe it something up with the client/server. Please inform!

Personally I'm sad about the Wit's change, but mostly because this probably means I won't be able to play Wit's End Nautilus and somehow top the damage charts on my team any more. To be fair though, that probably shouldn't have been possible in the first place.

i think it is pretty disrespectful to the league community that riot does things like say urgot is op we need to nerf him, so they nerf him... then buff him... then nerf him again. first make up your mind, second all this effort could go to champions that actually need work or reworks. this patch team is a joke they change their mind every other week on who they want to be meta

The fact that you guys got rid of the poro kills me inside. I used that guy for EVERYTHING. Having it just exist as an extra 60 seconds on a ward just kills this completely for me.

I didn't even care for the bonus damage it would give, it was just a way to always have a buddy spot for me when I was invading or even just defending my own jungle, but now I can't do that anymore and simply must purchase wards.

It honestly was very strong for information, busted even because it was free vision when you needed it, and without the need of a ward, just people who play this game are all in or not in at all. For me, as a person who actually played the game, I relied on this guy to give us the intel we would need, and then he would alarm the team if someone ran by... but, it is dead now. TBH, this whole part of the tree is pretty trash now. It was cool to have a unique benefit, but now its just the same trash.

You truly are a ghost now. RIP Poro. 4/3/2019. I will never forget you, buddy. I even nicknamed him after my dog who passed a year ago because he was just like my dog, he did nothing but make a lot of noise when someone visited the house. summoner 31 Poro Toss, right out the window.
