Summoner icons on sale for BE poggers! it's been a while since riot did this, like, it's been close to 7 months i think since the last time i remember is last year blood moon? I'm happy to see more f2p content!

FlameHalbrdOkido2 votes

I wonder why it isnt Orange essence, anyways i need to stay update date on this BE OE stuff so I dont miss out again

grarrrg3 votes

Blue is for Champ-loot, and Store. Orange is for (non-champ) Loot.

Virgin Ray1 votes

probably because icons were sold in IP and riot doesn't want to let that go or something. It's also not worth it to buy in OE considering that a good skin is around that price as well.

my virginity1 votes

I thought rito did sell the Pulsefire Icon in BE but it was for like, less than 24hours?

rtbf906614561 votes

that was for RP, and it was given to people who already owned pulsefire Ezreal for free, but not for sale with BE

artthony1 votes

The All-Star icon for your specific region was only 10 BE in the shop, but that's nothing in comparison to these ones we got with Annie.

rtbf906614561 votes

E-sports icons don't really count, it's not something you would really buy because you liked the lore of or the like

Aeszarck9 votes

Cool, 2 new Icons that can be purchased for Blue Essence! I thought that wasn't going to happen again (with the exception of the Essence Emporium), but I'm pleasantly surprised!

Pretty cool. I'm assuming shes's getting updated as well right?

rema10 votes

I'm hoping she gets a model that kinda more so fits her current bio. For example, like brown hair instead of pink.

SadKill6 votes

Blue eyes instead of green. Personally I like green eyes, but her eyes were blue in the animation.

Terozu1 votes

Her current bio is a while ago. She's not being changed.

Terozu1 votes

No.

TheDeadBeat4 votes

Do the Ryze Origins next please! Also pretty nice, like the fact it's obtainable for blue essence. Got to see Tibbers with both button eyes in the vid which is a plus. Keep 'em comin, gimme gimme.

LL Flash 3 votes

Not bad. I really like the second icon tbh

Yolister2 votes

Where's Goth Annie?

benku2 votes

That was a pre-order skin I think or a digital collectors pack skin back in the day. I think.

Sailor Mint5 votes

Store > Champions > Bundles > Digital Collector's Bundle.

975RP if you own all champions included in the bundle.

PeachyPosterior1 votes

Thank you for this! I'm trying to get all the champs so I can get the lowest possible price since I just want the skin. Every time I get a new champ from the bundle though it felt like the price hasn't changed.

TwiliPrincess2 votes

Kind of wish there was a change to her in-game model too, she looks nice but she looks younger in her model than her origin which is supposed to be how she becomes the girl she is now. I'm also just really fond of her design in the video hehe.

ººPLUS ULTRAºº1 votes

Why is annie in wonderland an 1820 RP skin?

Mikau2 votes

Because it's way older and is one of the older 1820 skins just like magnificent twisted fate, which is lower quality than stuff like project vayne and star guardian jinx

MoiMori1 votes

Back in the day they basically pulled prices out of a hat and assigned them probably based on how well they thought it would sell, now it's more based on how many changes and particle effects are involved.

Goalieth1 votes

So a Question for the riot team. Now that Annie is more flushed out as a character, will you do the same for Shaco?

Colorful Dream1 votes

Well I'm a doofus: it just now hits me that the burning flower is a daisy.
Daisy was Annie's step-sister.
When it showed the burning flower in the cinematic I didn't catch the correlation. Man do I love the depth of Riot's storytelling sometimes.

Annie in Wonderland needs an update bad, she is most definitely not worth the Legendary status or price.

That's why it's legacy. It's not popular enough to warrant an update.

Hungry Cancer1 votes

Popularity has nothing to do with it's Legacy status mate, it was classified as Legendary back when it was still on par with other Legendary skins, but the others have been updated and Annie's has not. It also has nothing to do with it's quality or lack thereof. If anything a Legacy Legendary skin should be one of the best since its only available a few times a year.

That makes no sense. Why would a legacy legendary be higher quality than updated and more recent legendaries?

Not saying your wrong I just don't follow your logic. And I never said popularity had anything to do with legendary status. I'm not sure where your getting these ideas.

Hungry Cancer1 votes

Apologies my initial reply got munced up but it reads correctly now. Traditionally the Legacy skins are of a higher quality than regular skins of the same price tier because they are only made for special occasions, only available a few times a year, and never available for a discount. It sounds like you may be confusing the term Legacy with meaning that it's an old or outdated skin. Legacy skins are holiday skins available a few times a year like the Christmas and Halloween skins.

I'm still not following you. I never said popularity had anything to do with legacy status either.

I think maybe your confused. Legacy status doesn't dictate quality at all. All legacy means is that it is dated and is no longer carried or supported. Meaning that it is old content that they are no longer going to keep up to date, and or it is old content that they are no longer going to sell because it doesn't meet standards or is not worth updating. The tier of the skin is dependent as is the quality depending on the time of release.

E.g. "Legacy equipment is equipment that has lived past it's shelf life", or "Windows XP is legacy and no longer supported, so no new patches will be released for it".

I think your confusing limited edition or limited release with legacy. Legacy is old content that is no longer offered or supported (meaning doesn't receive updates) because it is (too old) past their cutoff date for releases. Holiday skins or the like are limited edition or limited release (referred to as limited availability in the store).

The problem with this is that Riot doesn't retire or vault things to legacy status on an standardized schedule, for example Gentleman Cho'Gath is a popular skin so it remains in the store and receives updates, yet it is older than other skins that have been retired. Not that it really matters, but it is a form of showing favortism to certain champs, and indirectly the players of those champs.

Hungry Cancer1 votes

I understand that Legacy typically means "dated" however it does not mean that for Riot. They put out new Legacy skins every few months, its just that those skins are only available at particular times of the year, for example the Christmas skins like Snowday Graves which was released as a Legacy skin just like almost all of the holiday skins, the same is with the championship and conqueror skin lines and many of the esports skins, they are not Limited skins like the Victorious or Traditional skin lines that don't come on sale with the Legacies, or ever for that matter. Riot has only four categories of skin availability; Regular, Legacy, Limited/exclusive, and Promotional/Mythic (the crafting skins). Since the Legacy status became a thing no skin has ever gone from non-Legacy status to Legacy status, so your argument about popularity and age is a little off, and I don't know where you're getting that from. Just look it up mate, its a fairly basic aspect of LoL skins that you should be able to find easily. "I never said popularity had anything to do with legacy status either." ummmm "That's why it's legacy. It's not popular enough to warrant an update." Not to mention that you made the same argument in your last paragraph of the post I'm replying to you, that I won't bother quoting in its entirety.

They aren't released as legacy skins. They are released as limited availability or limited edition skins, they become legacy after the availability runs out or when Riot phases out that group of skins.

Plenty of skins have gone from non-legacy to legacy. In fact most of the 520 skins or reworked champions skins have been made legacy. Example Mars Attacks Heimer or Regifted Amumu (holiday skin that was never legacy until much after the event ended, couple years?). So again the problem becomes favortism, champions (or skins) with high playrates are less likely to have content made legacy which only speaks to riot's corporate mentality.

I know it is confusing but that is because Riot does not follow a standardized pattern for retiring content. They show favortism (and I'm not necessarily saying that's a bad thing), which makes "Legacy" not defined by a standard meaning. Maybe this will help you understand:

The link you sent backs up everything I've already said regarding the categories, for example it lists the Harrowing skins, such as the recent Death Sworn skins as Legacy, so if Legacy skins are only old skins then why would some of the newest skins have been placed directly in the Legacy vault? Its fairly common knowledge that Legacy skins are generally created as such and your link supports that if you look it over, so I don't know how to make it easier for you to understand mate. The big difference between Legacy and Limited skins is that Legacy skins are available through crafting and on holidays when the Legacy vault is opened whereas Limited Edition or Limited Availability skins are only available for a short time or to a limited number of people based on achievement such as the Victorious skins and are never available again, just read the link you posted. Regifted Amumu and Alien Invader Heimer were added to the Legacy vault back when the Legacy status was initially created because it wasn't always a skin category; so just as I said, since Legacy has been a skin category regular skins have not been added to it, most if not all of the skins on the "Retired Legacy skins" category in the link you sent were that way. I think you're extremely confused mate, just read the link you just posted, it divides the skins directly into Legacy and Limited skins in the exact way that I've already attempted to explain.

Protip: Scroll all the way down.

Legacy skins are retired skins, plain and simple. What is confusing you is that Riot doesn't retire skins in a standardized manner, please think about this and how it applies to the information in the link I provided. Holiday skins are released in limited availability not legacy. Your contradicting yourself now.

Reread the link and please take note to the "legacy" skins section, particularly the last portion of it where it notes the retired skins that are not holiday skins. Also please take particular notice of the Holiday section where it clearly shows that some holiday skins were "Limited, now Legacy" and the rest are not.

I realize what you are saying and we are both reading the same thing, but your not thinking about what it means. Yes, you are correct legacy skins come back for sales events. But the reason they are legacy is because they have been retired. Plain and simple. The reason the limited skins become legacy is because Riot rescinded their limited status to continue sales on them and further profit. Nothing too confusing about that.

There is also a "Retired Legacy" skins section, this shows skins that are legacy that are not coming back for further sales. This further illustrates my point that Riot is not dedicating resources to update Legacy skins. Legacy does not mean they are higher quality. Yes, it states they are rarer, but that is a matter of availability not quality.

Legacy skins do not receive updates when visuals are updated, that is what legacy means. Legacy is no longer supported. I can't explain it any clearer than that.

I'm sorry mate, but I can't help but think you just can't admit or handle being wrong or something now because its not a difficult concept and it shouldn't be this difficult for you to understand and you seem to be grasping at straws that don't make much sense at all but I'll try one more time to point out the fallacies in your argument in an attempt to help get you on track. LOL How am I contradicting myself? The holiday skins are immediately listed as Legacy and when they announce new Legacy skins they often specifically call them such. If skins moved from Limited status to Legacy status like you claim then that means that there would be a period were those skins are unavailable from chests which is not the case, and when the latest Snowdown skins were released they were immediately available from the Legacy orbs which only gave Legacy Skin shards, but if you are right then that shouldn't be the case because the skin would still be considered a Limited Skin and therefore unavailable in chests. As I've already stated the Retired Legacy skins are old/original skins that were moved into the Legacy vault back in the early days when skins were improving and getting model and particle changes and Riot first created the Legacy status, but they are still released regularly with all of the other Legacies. They are called "Retired Legacy skins" because they were retired to the Legacy vault from the regular skins list because they are old and too expensive for the quality and don't fit their price tier but they can't reduce the cost because of the people that already bought the skin at full price who would feel cheated, and so they bumped up their rarity to offset the poor quality and raise the perceived value to players. These skins are still updated when the champ receives a visual update, for example the Galio, Urgot, Shen, Sion, Xin, Karma, and Warwick skins which were all updated with their respective champs during their VU's and VGU's. The FIFA skins that were Limited but are now Legacy were originally set to never be purchasable again but as the game progressed and Riot refined their criteria for Legacy and Limited classification they moved the FIFA skins from the Limited vault which is never opened into the regularly opened Legacy vault which was more fitting. They are the only skins to move from the Limited vault to the Legacy vault, so that has no bearing on the other Legacy skins and how skins achieve Legacy status, so I really don't know how you think it supports your argument. You can tell from the link that there's an obvious distinction between Limited and Legacy skins, its not hard to notice the clear pattern that disputes your argument that skins are moved from Limited to Legacy. All of the Limited skins are made to only be released once, and Riot states this, whereas when Legacy skins are released Riot specifically states that they're going to return with the other Legacies. If Legacy skins were completely unsupported then Riot would not re-release them on holidays nor would they continuously add new very high quality skins to the Legacy list, such as the Snowdown and Death Sworn skins, which are all higher quality than other epic skins and have considerably more features. I'm a skin whore and have been collecting the rarest skins I can get for several years, I know the skin categories and how the system works inside and out, I hope you see that you don't have an argument and can understand that Legacy skins are not all old and "unsupported" and its not like they haven't updated Legacy skins in the past so my original point that Annie in Wonderland needs an update is not out of the question nor an unreasonable request.

Broooooo omg jesus man come oooon....

Your literally just arguing with yourself at this point. Nobody but you is even talking about what your talking about. Like your literally just making up an argument to have that nobody else is a part of.

I can't explain this again. I am NOT saying legacy means they are ALL old. RIOT DOES NOT FOLLOW A STANDARDIZED RETIREMENT POLICY. Jesus is it really that hard to understand?

A standard policy would be anything 10 years ago by todays date gets retired. We have both agreed that's not what happens. Right? Right? RIGHT?

Riot's policy is what they pick and choose. RIOT DOES NOT FOLLOW A STANDARDIZED RETIREMENT POLICY. Get it yet??? Please tell me you understand this right?

ALL your points so far have been addressing an argument nobody but you is having. Your failing to comprehend anything I have said. You seem to think we are arguing about something that nobody but you is talking about. FFS.

My comment was that it is not warranting an update. Then you went off on some tangent that legacy means they come back and some other random bullshit like that, nobody cares. Nobody is talking about that. Legacy can come back in the store yes, but they were removed from the store because they are NO LONGER SUPPORTED and YES YOU ARE CORRECT THAT ALSO INCLUDES LIMITED SKINS BUT NOBODY IS DISPUTING THAT SO STOP FUCKING ARGUING ABOUT IT WITH YOURSELF

There are different tiers of skins, yes. But Legacy does NOT indicate QUALITY of a skin. It indicates RARITY congratulations you can read. That's literally why I posted that link. The point I was making is that legacy is dated content, it is no longer supported. It makes sense that a skin that came out this year is going to be more recent than and more up to date than one that came out in 2011? RIGHT? That does make sense to you doesn't it? If it doesn't then I just don't know what to tell you anymore. But the fact that it is legacy DOES NOT mean that it is a higher quality of skin than a non-legacy skin. Legacy has nothing, I repeat NOTHING to do do with quality. Period. Legacy is simply a term meaning it has been retired, or as you seem so keen to argue "removed from the store" WHICH MEANS THE SAME DAMN THING FFS...

NOBODY SAID LEGACY IS THE SAME THING AS LIMITED, or did you say that? I can't even remember at this point because this whole conversation is so absurd. If you just want to argue go somewhere else and do it, please.

NOBODY FUCKING MENTIONED FIFA SKINS. I just don't know how to have a conversation with you anymore, your just not making sense. All your doing is talking in circles about a tangent that nobody is on but you.

Supported does not mean it can not go for sale again. Do you even understand that your arguing about things that nobody is saying? Like your literally making up the opposing view just so you can have something to say about it. It's absurd. From the very first comment you have continously mixed up and confused what it is you are saying, from the very first comment... Nobody said legacy is a quality tier BUT YOU. I just don't understand what it is you are arguing over. It's just so nonsensical.
