Champion Update: Alistar

The champion update guys had a closer look at Alistar and decided it was time for a brush up! We’ve just finished shampooing and shearing, clipping and steering him through the champ-up workshop, and he’s finally ready to stampede with style.

As with a few other recent updates, Alistar didn’t actually require a massive gameplay or thematic overhaul, meaning we could focus on the Minotaur’s visuals. His update’s packed with new models and textures for all of his skins, and while we had him in the shop, we also tweaked a couple of the big guy’s animations. Now Alistar will cycle through different run types as he speeds up and slows down, and you’ll actually see him trampling enemies with his passive! You still can’t milk those, though.

No gameplay update? I was under the impression that his heal was going to be replaced with something more tanky or aggressive that fits a rampaging bull.

Below is a 'long' post/reply for those who only like reading 1-3 lines for their information. At least that is how my prior experience works with forum posting the last couple years for non-scholarly forums. I did ensure it was all stated in everyday dialect.

As I have stated before in a different post a while back. As a Black Alistar owner I personally do not like several of the changes, but the biggest one being the hair color. I want the old hair color, red, back this current one is not aesthetically pleasing IMO. This is especially true when you notice how similar to some of the terrain the current, updated, color is. The change to his fur/coat to a more ash rather than black coloring is acceptable, although debatable on improvement or not. Especially when you note the name of "Black" Alistar. All this being said my information is coming from the SkinSpotlights YouTube channel videos including Black Alistar's visual updates.

There are however several changes I do like such as the 'loin cloth' changes, the hair style (not color) is better, and the horns are an interesting change arguably an improvement. I am also very grateful you have not changed his gameplay, thank you for that.

I understand it is far too difficult to please everyone with these skin changes, updates, and creations, but it would be nice for opinions of others to be considered. Especially if it is of a skin no longer available, and has a statistically uncommon, if not insignificant, active player owner base when compared to your overall player base. I do understand that my comment will likely be disregarded, or not even read, due to how much information is received.

what i want to know is when are you guys going to update and buff Varus , true he is a lane bully but he is far to easily countered by new champions with massive and now complex passives and attack scaling, Jinx , Kalista , and granted with an experienced support that actually knows what they are doing (and lets face it, that is like trying to find a needle in a VERY big stack of needles), i (and probably many others who main Varus ),(although i can't speak for these other people and don't intend to), feel like he is falling behind the other champions in scaling and damage potential, PLEASE riot, give Varus the well deserved update (and buff) that this champion, DESPERATELY needs to stay in the game!!!

I am thankful that you have updated these people (trist, ali, sion) who were in need of a change, but I feel that you need to update Taric . He is not really up to date with the current meta, and I feel that riot should give him a good look. I mean, all the other supports have a clear identity. Ali is about cc and tankiness. Leona gets in a persons face and stuns them over and over, and is a good cc sup. Soraka is all about healing and silencing. Sona is a well balanced poke, heal, cc sup, and can be useful for most situations and fights no matter what is required. sup. I just don't really feel that taric has a clear identity at the moment. It's just a bunch of things pushed together. At least, that's how I have always seen it. Anyway, pls riot, update taric. <:C

Overall the VU is great, but I personally would like it if the fire particles that were on Infernal Alistar's pulverize could come back.

You know, Rito. This is what real PAYING fans of LoL want. We'd love for you to actually go back and make some old champs relevant to the game. Please continue this trend. However, I'd like to point out that you guys still consistently release broken champs for no reason other than money. It wouldn't be so bad if you people put that money back into the game, but that's rarely the case. Many old champs are quite dumb (again thanks for the updates keep them coming), but you're typically putting out more new champs than you're fixing old ones. Worse than that, you guys make the new champs retarded OP, on purpose, for money. It's not cute, most of us know what you're doing. Again, if all the money we put into this game eliminated the fucking login queue I don't think I'd have much room to complain. However as is, your game is mostly broken and rarely working right. You people can't even release a new champ without having to pull them from the game for a week to fix bullshit bugs that should have been GLARING in beta (Azir...). Sadly many people don't have the time to game like they used to, so they turn to MOBAs because they don't have to commit a whole night to play. There's not a lot to choose from, LoL is easily the most popular, you guys could be trend setters, but no. You're more like highway men, I'd appreciate it if while you fleeced us you set up a few servers in the midwest or maybe fixed your game.

Taric just sucks in general, and he sounds like a pedophile. He needs a complete rework, voice over, and buff probably more than anyone in the game but Varus needs another buff next.
