Upcoming changes to League Partner chromas

We wanted to give a quick update on content in the League Partner Program! So far, we’ve been so happy to see many creators giving away codes for Infernal Amumu (he needs some new friends), and we’ll be releasing a new Partner chroma soon.

When we set out to grant League Partners exclusive monthly content, we wanted to provide creators a way to grow their audience and get visibility on their channels, as well as sending them another meaningful way to give back to their communities.

With that in mind, we’re making a couple of changes to accommodate hardcore collectors and fans of the color green:

We’ll be adding all League Partner Program chromas to the Blue Essence Emporium following the same timing rules as other chromas, for a cost of 10,000 BE per chroma.

The “But Why?” Odyssey Sona emote (which was not part of the League Partner Program, but did have roughly the same rarity) will also be added to the BE Emporium for 25,000 BE.

Partner chromas remain exclusive to content creators for a while, but we’re adding a guaranteed way to unlock them later if you miss out on giveaways.

The next Blue Essence Emporium featuring these items will hit around midseason 2019, and all future Partner chromas will be added to a future Blue Essence Emporium offering.

Partner chroma released from January - June: End-of-year BE Emporium
Partner chroma released from July - December: Following midseason BE Emporium

We hope these changes give everyone a chance to get the content they want while still preserving its exclusivity for Partners. As ever, please give us your feedback on this change.

Oh, and one more thing… we’re happy to announce that November’s Partner chroma is Program LeBlanc! As a reminder, LPP codes grant the champion AND the skin if you need them. Check out NA’s League Partner lineup over here.

Good change. Now if only you can move that on to borders and Ruby / Golden chromas. The exclusivity and other ridiculous restrictions are destroying the game.

I'm lukewarm about the Rubies, but the Golden ones I believe DESERVE to be exclusive. They're not standard colors like ROYGBIV, and they're commemorative, so they have more emphasis as collector chromas.

I wouldn't mind if they were special, but having them ALL come out at once means getting them all is extremely difficult. If they were staggered and more easily obtainable I'd agree though.

I agree. The ruby chromas are specifically and clearly stated as being exclusive to bundles (and quite frankly not the best chromas usually). Borders are time-specific to the release of skins/events and in some cases like K/DA Prestige Kai’Sa (which really wasn’t all I hoped it would be but won’t complain because it’s better than no prestige skin for my main and at least I got a cool border with it considering it will aparently be available in rerolls AND for gemstones ((wtf))) perhaps the only signifier that someone worked very hard, spent a lot, or was around at the time of the event to get the skin+border.... and as such should certainly not be available again. I feel the same way about gold chromas which are also very difficult to obtain in quantity. Sorry, but I think most collectors (like myself) who’ve worked hard to get these little things for champions we love would be pretty ticked off if suddenly they became available to everyone for some blue essence.. especially after grinding to get them. Like why would I waste my time in the first place then?

In short, it completely contradicts their inherent exclusivity to be made readily available again. Since Riot re-leases “”legacy”” skins when they rework/update champs, it has made the amount of actually exclsuive or rare content fairly small, so these minor add-ons/swag kind of make up for it and make it worthwhile for people to collect them.

Lastly, as for the Partner Program exclusives; I was very excited when this program was announced and all of my favorite YouTubers began talking about the exclusive content they’d be giving out. At first I didn’t mind missing out on some emotes, then I figured I had bad luck with the Amumu chroma... but as time went on I saw just how few people at complete random (besides friends of partners.....) would get these super rare chromas meanwhile countless people like myself who pride themselves on collecting as much as they can would just be... unlucky. But at the same time it was refreshing to know that I couldn’t have it all and that there are some things that are unobtainable in life and that’s ok.

So here we are, I have so much blue essence and the normal blue essence emporium is nice but not the most tantalizing. I think having the partner program exclusives available (still limitedly) for a decent amount of BE (so really only people who’ve been playing a lot and already amounted a lot will be able to get many of them) is a fantastic idea. I think people who got them through the program still have exclusive content and also benefited by getting the skins for free... and considering they won them (mostly with little effort) they shouldn’t be that bummed that some other people will be able to collect them. I love green btw... more than Ruby... so yeah, I’m psyched and now what I thought was a lot of BE seems a little less massive but all the more valuable.

I feel the sameeeeee way! Usually I don’t comment but if they bring back borders for everyone I be upset. Also, yeah, the presige skin borders shouldn’t come with the re-reroll chest or whatever. I agree with you 100000%!

This is a bullshit concept, I worked hard to get Prestige Kai’sa only to get screwed and didn’t get it bc they didn’t show the date we stopped earning coins and I didn’t get it by 200 coins. Fucking bullshit.

I'm out of touch with BE Emporium updates, but will event content that's since fallen out of the shop be there? Hoping to pick up the You Look Familiar emote in particular since I was a broke bitch during the Bilgewater event.

Thank you riot, it took me almost 10 hours of non stop stream stalking to get the sona emote and I was not planning on doing it again for any future emotes or chromas.

That's correct. It's the same system as buying other chromas via the BE Emporium - you need the skin first. Only with these chromas, they're a bit more expensive in terms of BE cost.

I'm confused as to where it's thought this should be a thankful moment.

Correction: I initially remembered the BE cost of the Chromas being 2250 for some reason. That roughly should be an Exactly.

The chroma wasn't previously going to be available for purchase at all except via distribution through the League Partner Program, but that has been changed with this announcement.

It's meant to be expensive because they're supposed to be relatively rare items. This is leagues better than a bundle-exclusive (RP exclusive) chroma.

As the Blue Essence emporium was covered by the latest "Ask Rito", I wanted to ask again regarding the 1500 BE random icons:

Or is it the same deal as with ward skins: see in-client icon collection, check "Show Unowned" and uncheck "Show Unavailable", and that's almost all the icons that are available for BE?

Also, may I suggest that event limited icons - if even after a set time, as with prior limited skins (like CS Riven - 6 years, was it?) - are also made available for a "healthy" sum of BE.

Also, will there be a 4th set of "Mystery minis" icons?

And lastly, will we be able to gift mystery champions?

There is one coming up at the end of the current season, the Partner Chromas from this time around just won't be available until next midseason's emporium.

I still have no clue what this Post/News is all about? What is League Partner Program? Also what is End of season blue essence emporium? Is it like the same thing that happened like a year or two ago where you can buy like Urfwick, wards, chromas, etc?

The Partner Program launched in like August, but was pretty incognito until recently. Through it, streamers on Youtube, Twitch, Twitter, etc, can apply to be partners with exclusive access to Riot content to report on through their streams, and they were also granted exclusive codes for the Green Chromas to distribute however they saw fit on their streams. Naturally, it upset people because of how random it was. So this why they are allowing us to purchase them at the emporiums.

And yes, the Emporiums happen every Midseason and Preseason, where you can buy Urfwick, wards, Chromas, and such.

And i'm sorry but last i checked the LPP is shit and has some fucking toxic players that are connected to it. Not only that but some streamers don't even hand out the codes they get from riot. Its a major rip off

While im glad youre taking a more realistic approach to this, the BE costs are way too high. Youre pretty much excluding anyone who doesnt already have every champion they want for an item that is nearly unobtainable through other means.

If youre going to make the BE cost so insane for items that shouldnt be as exclusive as they are, i feel youd find better results changing how the partner program distributes the skins. Giving 10 codes to 1 person who gets tens of thousands of views simply isnt going to work. Giving them a code that is redeemable multiple times would be better, even if you need to own the skin to use it. Or at least make it realistic. A 1/1000+ chance is not realistic, youd be better off playing mega millions.

The chromas shouldnt feel exclusive, or really be exclusive. It should be fun and enjoyable for people. Something like prestige kaisa that you have to earn yourself can be exclusive, as its open for anyone to get if they want to invest the time. Its not a random lottery.

The entire point of this stuff is to be a BE sink. If someone is a new player, why the hell would they care about a random chroma unless they play said champion nearly exclusively, in which case why would they care about unlocking more champions?

I would like the IP to be reverted because BE is just a HUGE grind to get champions or later on these chromas. Before it was fun to get that first win of the day/play games and get IP after each victory or defeat.. with chromas going at 10K BE to about 25K BE? Thats way too much..

Riot, if you actually read this (doubtful), I wish there were more items that could be purchased with BEs. I do not own all the champions, but I only play a select few and I have accumulated a lot of BE. I do not need any more rune pages, I don't care to purchases any more champions. My suggestion, how about letting us purchases "low quality" (skins with no special backs/skill modification/interaction) skins for BE...say 25,000 BE. Such as Warrior Princess Sivir, Buccaneer Tristana, or Renegade Talon(Not 100% sure if he has any "special" backs/interaction/etc. I think you get my drift. I'm still positive Riot isn't going to read this. I would love a response, wont happen though.
