A pair of ne’erdowells are putting the squeeze on League of Legends. In the dead of night, they broke into the store and stole Hippalus’ most prized possessions (he really loves his socks). The two best detectives in the history of detecting are on the case but, to prevent further chaos, we’re giving in to their demands. These are dark days in League… kind of.

I want URF as much as anyone, and am glad to see so many people clamoring for it still so Riot sees that it's not dying off in terms of demand.

That being said.. No, making 'every' game mode permanent would destroy LoL. Too many game modes means not enough people playing SR. Not enough people playing SR actually severely hurts Riot's bottom-line, which means they can't afford to maintain LoL.

That also being said.. Adding URF as a gamemode wouldn't break anything >_> Srsly Rito. Pls.

@Daithus The problem with that theory is that trolls don't disappear just because of game modes. They'd still be present, especially in lower ranking of ranked because it has the biggest impact on people.

Putting out all of the game modes would severely reduce the number of people playing SR at any given time. People like myself, who play without trolling ever; would simply migrate between game modes so frequently SR would see less play. This is fact. People would still play SR, yes; but it would be a serious hit on numbers.

As for trolls.. You can't get rid of them by giving them variety. Trolls troll because they find harming other people's good time to be fun. SR is the best place to do that, plain and simple. It's why there's less trolls in other modes generally (They're still there of course, just not as omnipresent. There's just less reason for them to troll modes that aren't taken as seriously).

I genuinely wish releasing all the game modes 'wouldn't' hurt Rito/LoL. But it would.

The problem with this is something that was already observable when the game mode was featured. People were crying for perma-bans on champions in the queue. Riot has said themselves that one of the main reasons that featured game modes arent permanent is because they don't want the data from these games to affect game balancing. Imagine being a Sona main, while URF queue is permanent, and coming to find out that they upped her cooldowns because its an "apparent problem" within the game. I don't know about you, but tailoring balance to also include URF mode (imagine the ever-growing list of perma-bans) sounds pretty crappy.

Nobody views URF as a serious gamemode. They could always, not change anything about the champions and just accept that some picks are significantly stronger than others in URF mode. That's how it is on the Howling Abyss. You don't see Katarina or Xerath nerfed because they are too strong on Howling Abyss. Besides this, they already change individuals to balance them separately on Twisted Treeline. Renekton for example was nerfed ONLY on Twisted Treeline but not on Summoner's Rift. There could be similar actions taken to URF mode.

Rito, you did the math wrong (Or the description).

The bundle is 40% off if it is 13344 RP.

487x4=3896 375x4=1500 260x22=5720

3896+1500+5720=11116 11116x2=22232=Full Price 22232x.4=8892.8 22232-8892.8=13339.2=40% off

60% off would be 22232-13339.2 = 8892.8 RP (For just the skins)

Shouldn't it be 20,269 RP if you need the champions? 11,373 RP is the cost of only the champions at 50% off. Bundle should cost 8,896 RP (discounted price of skins) + 11,373 RP (discounted price of champs) if you need the champions.

I obviously can't say with 100% certainty, but from a marketing standpoint it makes sense:

None of these skins are at all popular anymore, I doubt hardly anyone is even buying them currently (That's not to say they're bad, just that most people who want them have them). By making them legacy they'll not only have a bunch of people buying them before the go in the vault.. They'll have more limited skins to pull out of the vault and sell, making them more popular.

It's all about making your old product more appealing to the newer masses.

P.S. I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I don't blame them, it's not some dubious horrible scheme. It's smart. I'd do it.
