We created Dark Star Cho’Gath with Bryan, a League player who visited Riot in 2017 through our partnership with The Make-A-Wish Foundation. Bryan’s wish was “to meet the creators of Riot Games and create a skin with them!”

We’re honored to be bringing Bryan’s vision into League and supporting nonprofit organizations along the way. We will donate 100% of the proceeds from this skin (as well as the icon, emote, and bundles) to our partner, GlobalGiving, who will then distribute grant funding on a proportional basis from sales in each participating region to select nonprofits around the world, guaranteeing a minimum donation of at least $10,000 (USD) to each nonprofit. The sale will run from July 13 through August 10, 2018.

Afterward, the skin, icon, and border leave the shop. Dark Star Cho’Gath will eventually return as a Gemstone skin, but all other related content will only be available if purchased before August 10.

Local nonprofit organizations were selected based on values shared with League players. Here’s the full list:

I understand this is for a good cause and all but costing 1k more RP for another icon+border without the emote in there is really expensive. compare to the skin being 1350 and with the icon is 1500 in the bundle, so going by that math another icon should be +250-350 and the border usually cost 150rp +600 for the emote is around 1k-1.1k rp for that bundle, so i don't know why the emote isn't in there.

It's a shame about the emote (kinda curious why it costs 600 RP compared to the typical 350 though), but either way the money goes to a good cause. I was happy to spend a little extra to get a border on such a cool skin, and the fact it supports charity made me feel like it wasn't ripping me off. Had it not been, I probably would've been a little flabbergasted though.

Great job bringing the skin to life, by the way. I love the walk cycle, I love the fact it has different stages as you get bigger. Was an awesome thing you guys did for Bryan.

Hey everyone, just to clarify the emote caused some weird technical problems so we had to exclude it from the bundle. All of the items will be going away at the end of the campaign with only the DS Cho skin coming back as a loot exclusive.

I know a lot of you are pissed about the emote being separate, but come on, seriously? I would think that people would purchase these items/bundles in good faith because it goes to charity and goes in to supporting others. Yet, the only thing all of you can think about is why am I not getting this emote in the bundle. That just shows selfishness and shows that you are more concerned about what YOU get for giving. You may as well not give at all.

Riot obviously doesn't care about donation causes as much as most other companies do. Are they willing to lose out on profit? Yes. Are they willing to actually donate? No. Most other gaming companies have donation drives like this were they donate so much money for every purchase. Usually it's a 150% margin so that means for every $20 they donate $30.

Riot on the other, had spend a very short amount of time to make a skin and then the profit goes to charity. So basically Riot gives no money to charity at all. They just donate a skin as an incentive for us to donate money...

I agree that the Emote is missing from the Bundle. I really want to get the bundle, but I don't see how the Galactic Heart Icon + Border is valued at 1000RP. That's with owning Cho'Gath and before the 7% discount. I get that it's for charity, but that is steep. That is almost $7USD just for a Icon+Border

It's not 100% to charity. No one does anything for free. I've worked with charities before. It's probably more like 80-85% to the charities. Would explain the cost hike, and no one on the forums can say anything or don't know.

Regardless though, great skin. Will def get the skin and contribute. And save your blahblahblah it's for charity blahblahblah, you're all naive af.

Just for clarification the emote will never be given or be part of the bundle for those who have purchased the 2,500? correct? Edit: My friend is holding on to his 2019 RP and wants the 2500 bundle and doesn't have enough, does he have the chance of getting the border?

Still waiting to hear confirmation from Riot Games. Seems like they messed up with the pricing and didn't realize they couldn't include the emote in the bundle until it was too late.

Honestly if this is for charity, I think doing it how humble bundle does it would be the best way. Pay what you want, and you get stuff in tiers. Tier 1, 5$ or 10$ minimum, you get the skin, and every 2.50 more you get the icon, and then the border at tier 3.

The option to pay what you want means people can actually donate more if they want to. Would probably make more money that way, since this limits it to 1 skin/icon/border per account for a max of 20$ or so, versus no limit on donation amount with a pay what you want method.

Please do way more charity events, it's such an amazing thing to contribute to change the world in a better way. Please consider involving charities for the environment, I was slightly disappointed that every charity was humanitarian in philosophy. Without our planet in a healthy state, the human race can't sustain any modern lifestyle we've built towards. Thanks for taking this in consideration! <3 Also, just wondering if Make-A-Wish Canada sees a part of the proceeds for NA since the only charity listed above is Make-A-Wish America. [katarina-love]

Will you guys re-release Dark Star Cho'Gath i absolutely love this skin!!...unfortunately my mother was in the hospital at this time and i wasn't playing much i would love to have the opportunity to buy this skin. so please riot ,make it a gem stone or release it for a limited time once more.
