Kind of. See they have this thing here called the Harrowing. Every year this fog comes in fill with ghost and spirits and things dead come back to life to try and kill you. The giant beast I killed was affected and came back to try and kill me. I almost die.

It might be an older transliteration that's been popularized, like Nanjing being Nanking or Beijing being Peking or Gongfu being Kung-fu or Chingis being Genghis, when all the latter versions are pitiful failures of transliteration to epic proportions. o.O
