This year, we're celebrating the ten year anniversary of League of Legends! Join us on October 15th, 2019 as we kick things off with livestreams and events, including a 10th Anniversary Edition of Riot Pls that starts at 6:00pm PST.

In the 10th Anniversary Edition Riot Pls, we'll take a look back at our favorite League moments and share a glimpse of the future, including a first look at this year's preseason changes and TFT's next big content update.

Every day we see about 8 million peak concurrent players in League.* That makes League the biggest PC game in the world—it's even bigger than the top ten games on Steam combined. Together, we’ve built a thriving community around the world, and we want to show our appreciation for all of you. If you're not able to catch the celebration on October 15th, don't worry. We'll rebroadcast the livestream throughout the following day.

We think this is the perfect time to set the stage for the next ten years by modernizing the official League of Legends logo. Check out the new look above!

That new logo is way to minimalist. If the 10th anniversary is actually meant to be a big deal, then this isn’t gonna cut it.

I always wished there would be a legacy game mode for a 10 year anniversary for the game where we could bring back some of the things that may have gotten a lot of players hooked on the game, like old summoners rift, pre reworked characters, old items, etc. A game mode that generate a sense of nostalgia for the game that some have been playing for a decade now would be an extremely good fit for the ten year anniversary of this game.

If you couldn’t tell. Nostalgia is hitting the market pretty big. Minecraft making a comeback. Modern warfare coming back and is suppose to play like the old cods. Halo mcc on pc, people being upset when you removed the gauntlent mouse clicker. It’s not that people just hate change and change is good. It’s that your new modern designs are so minimal and take away from the actual theme of the game. Why not make the classic logo look better? Why not make the gauntlent look better? Why remove something from the game that gives it so much character and adds to the lore and vibe of the game itself? Minimalism is not always cool.

The new logo looks like you were attempting to make it modern, sure, with all those hard angles and lack of background. But it loses so much character. There's no hint of magic, no prestige. The font is uninteresting, but somehow uncomfortably busy for a logo with no background, like a design student's first PowerPoint presentation. The lack of a background takes away any feeling of being self-contained. The old one you could put on a badge, or a bag, or a statue; it feels solid. The new one is literally full of holes; it takes on the quality of whatever's behind it and thus feels weak. It feels like a movie's logo, not a game's; it feels like it should be slowly expanding on a moving background, not static.

There were clearly design principles behind the new logo; after all, it all uses the same font and you wanted the "of" to be larger, so it is. But you've lost the original feel of it, the one that says "this is a game about ancient magic and epic battles," and replaced it with a logo that says "this is an e-sport logo," or "I am an ancient block of inexplicably decorative gold."

Here's the real issue, I think: It's hard to tell that the new logo is special. I had to long and hard to tell that there were grooves in the gold letters. The lighting gradient is unclear, and it's impossible to tell if it's coming from a torch, or a magic light, or a cloudy sky, or the gold itself is glowing unevenly. It's bland, and for a game that prides itself on the variety and diversity of its characters and (?gameplay?), that is a cardinal sin.

Why change the logo when you could just improve the old one. Like give it a recolour or new font, something along those lines.

The logo we have right now is amazing it gives it the fantasy feel that the game is. Please riot listen to your fans, the people who make this even possible, just this once and keep the old logo.

I think it'd be cool to see, instead of this "modernized" logo that looks generic to see something that is like the current logo upgraded, perhaps with more flair

The old logo looks way better, the design and shape of even just the background of the old logo is a symbol for league. The new logo just looks generic and seems like a logo for a start up company, not a logo for the biggest PC game in the world. The old logo (along with the old riot logo) are what players remember.

That new logo sucks. The old logo actually had me believe the game was cool and touches on the idea of the game. The new one is like. Mobile game click bait.

Congrats on the upcoming anniversary! Not a fan of the new logo, though -- the game is deep and rich, and the new logo is the exact opposite of that.

I never write comments or posts on the forums but I feel like I need to voice my opinion here. As a years long player of league I really feel like the new logo is an absolute downgrade from the previous one. This new one doesnt have any soul to it. It could be replicated in photoshop in ten minutes. The old logo was bold, iconic, and something that was instantly associated with the theme that league tries to portray. Please riot, reconsider this new logo or revert to the old one.

I know k6 says change is good, but y'all don't need to change EVERYTHING, some stuff is fine the way it is. I still use the OG cursor and I see no reason to change the logo, it already epic as hell

I can't put the words any better than the rest of my peers, but the logo is fine, and the NEW logo...is hardly a logo. It's a font. Please don't make this change and follow the community's opinion about the old one (either spruce it up a tiny bit, or just keep it the same). This reminds me of the cursor change cuz it was (outdated)...just unnecessary changed to "modernize". Don't change the attitude towards becoming modern, just not this time.

Bruh what’s up with everyone bashing the logo? I personally like the new logos and the modernised pbe. I like the new direction.
