Champion Update: Ryze update heads to live!

We’ve just wrapped up Ryze’s stint on PBE, meaning he’s now ready to wade onto live with his tweaked kit and new effects! Check out his PBE article for the full story, or scroll down for the some in-game shots of the man with the runic tattoos.

This is cool and all, but there are more important matters at hand here. Like updating the splashes for Anivia and Taric. I mean cmon rito Olaf has had three splash updates and Anivia and Taric still have their ugly clay looking art from like 2.8 million years ago. Show Anivia Taric some love item 3070

I still don't understand why this rework was needed. Ryze still shows up a decent bit in normals and probably only needed a tiny buff. "Rework" shouldn't mean "throw everything unique about the character away."

There was nothing unique about Ryze. He was a dull, boring champ that was generally mostly played by people who needed the crutch of a point-and-click skill lineup. Ryze was probably the least unique and most uninspired champ in the game.

Keoyn thats completely wrong, Ryze was one of the only unique mages all of his damage is actually based around comboing spells For if you want more single target more aoe or just more cc. If you ever played ryze when he was not unreal op then you would see why he actually had uniqueness to him but people just jump on the bandwagon, on top of this he needed a rework because at his core he was broken and hard to balence. If you to talk about uninspired? Look at annie. she is a stun bot that just does aoe damage and one hits the adc the "counter play" to her is that the adc gets a qss 2nd item or she will kill him over and over again though if he gets qss 2nd item then he does not do damage so the adc is worthless either way. leona, stun bot that has free tankyness that if you get hit by her skilshot you're not getting away since you can't flash it she will just follow.

Almost all midlaners and mages are focused on combo'ing spells, even Xerath. The main reason he needed a rework wasn't because he was bad or underplayed-- it was because Ryze offered absolutely NO counterplay if you were within his (somewhat short) range.

If you ever got close to a Ryze, it was Root+Mash everything, then you either die or back off to try again later. Now he has skillshots so that he doesn't absolutely annihilate anyone within his range, and his E was changed so that you actually had to use minions for the max damage, not just bounce it off of each other-- which was the original intention of his E in the first place.

It's disappointing to see Ryze only has 2 accessible skins while the rest are Legacy. Hopefully there will be more availability in the future!

Sigh, hopefully the rework is not as bad as it seems as it removes everything I liked about ryze and just made him seem like a worse version of EVERY meta mage. But at least every champ has a skill shot on q now oh wait annie.....

Played it on the PBE ... They pretty much destroyed his identity. He's just a mana scaling midlaner now. But they actively punish you for building tanky mana like Frozen Heart.

Ruined champ. Q and E nerfed HARD; the arcane shield does not make up for it at all, this is a nerf. No early game anymore. Still crazy good at 18 full build but you wont get there unless carried hard. I've won over 3700 games, speaking from experience.

Yes, Gnar is a recently-released popular champion who's fun to play... but Zac is a not-so-recently-released unpopular champion who's also fun to play, believe it or not. I mean, I've never played Gnar (even though he looks like a lot of fun), but still.

If they only came out with skins for the recently popular champions, then Zed would have at least two dozen skins, and Yorick would still have just his release skins.

There are champs older than Gnar that are more neglected in respect to skins, and a lot of old champs that have more skins but no modern skins. Let's face it, skins released these days put the skins of old to shame, and that includes Gnar's other skin which has its own models and unique assets and animations.

Besides, as everyone knows Riot doesn't force skins just cause a champ feels neglected or some guy named after a tomato spams the forums about it. They make skins when the right ideas show up, as it should be done.

gnar is trash garbage filth, people who dont know how to LoL play him and still fail miserably, the people who play gnar cant do it, get a few kill, rage at their team and then lose. because he is an utter wreck of a champion even more useless then an adc veigar.
