Twisted Treeline Rewards Update

We want to give you an update on the Twisted Treeline commemoration rewards for those who spent more than 10, 50, and 100 games on the game mode before its retirement. We initially said that we would give out the rewards to all qualified players during patch 9.23, but unfortunately, the full grant will be delayed until the beginning of next year.

As you may already know, Twisted Treeline underwent a rework in 2012. That rework caused some discrepancies when we initially pulled the data of players that qualified for the rewards. We're now finding that some folks were passed over in the data pull and have yet to receive the rewards. We're working on a fix now to restore the pre-2012 player data and are eager to get you your rewards ASAP.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding! If you find yourself as one of those who did not receive the rewards, we ask that you wait until the early 2020 before reaching out to Player Support.

At least have them both OCCASIONALLY come back as rotating game modes. Just for nostalgia sake if anything. Amumu

Seriously, I played so many custom 3v3s vs my friends. Had some of my finest moments and laughs in that map...

Ascension, Dominion, Twisted tree line, Urf, NEXUS BLITZ, are what makes League worth playing, but riot decides they only want to keep one game mode because they care more about their competitive SR and not if the players are having any fun from actually playing this game. They say that these fun game modes hurt their competitive SR player-base, and yeah, of course they would; because they a lot of people prefer to play them than SR, ~duh? I just dont understand why riot would take so much fun out of League. SR is super slow paced and with matchmaking + early game, it averages 20 mins in any tier. Riot pls, dont kill your veteran players...

Better idea. Bring Twisted Treeline back, and let people get their 100 games. Here's the kicker, just like you're giving away free emotes for TFT, DO THAT FOR 3v3 mode and voila, you'll have a sudden influx of players, and growing playerbase. Rework the map, polish it up, promote it, rather than having 2 slots for TFT at all stars which killed viewership, having a dank 3v3 tournament. 3v3 had a ton of potential. That being said, what's up with the lacklustre rewards? The emote didn't even get any sort of effect or animation added to it.

I mean they did tell people this was gonna happen and then they also gave everyone time to get in some games for this EXACT thing... so maybe just read the upcoming stuff and you couldve had the 100 games stuff...........

Actually they didn't. Just like with Dominion before it, you had to have played those games BEFORE the announcement was made. When that was posted the amount of games on there had been locked on each account, so nothing that you played after that point would have actually counted towards it.

So if people wanted those, they would have had to be part of the 3s community beforehand.

That's kind of the point, the reward wasn't supposed to be something you could force yourself to grind out to get, it was for the players who played twisted because they wanted to, the two icons and an emote aren't really anything but they're what you were given for spending a lot of time on that game mode

My point is not because I want it (clearly I have the icon -- I had 1000s of games on treeline long before they announced its removal), my point was that Treeline was an excellent gametype, and could have had a resurgence if Riot really cared to help it out -- rather than lying to us that TFT some great new game mode, so we need to make room for it.

I would like TT more if it was more like Smite's Joust, with a single lane in the center with a jungle of to the side with a blue buff on each end, and a neutral red buff on the opposite off the the side of the center.

2 lanes and the gimmicky altars make for a "meh" 3v3

For the other people in the player base that loved Twisted Treeline, I'm sorry. Twisted Treeline was my favourite map and Dominion was before that. Sometimes not everyone wants to play a 30 min game on Summoner's Rift.

So many others on the forums have already said this, but we now only have one map that lets you play the champion you want to play.

Quite frankly, I don't want to randomly pick a champion to create a team and have to idly watch them battle on a screen and I'm not sure I want to have a champion randomly given to me, throw my abilities out, and stand in one lane dodging a cluster of abilities in ARAM.

Just seems super sad to see them go. I'd honestly just want TT back with support from Riot instead of placing all your eggs in one basket with an idle game and now a newly announced single player game. Those aren't reasons why I fell in love with League of Legends right after beta on launch.

Would've been better if instead you had decided to just not let the map rot after promising it wouldn't suffer the same fate as dominion :) Don't think people are gonna just forget. You literally ignored the map, didn't update or balance it, and expect people to just not be unhappy when you rip it away?? Like really? I didn't even PLAY TT and I'm mad for the people that did.

That would be cool, perhaps a square 2v2v2v2 FFA map. However this would likely be good as an event map.

Hey Riot, I'm a veteran player who has been enjoying your game for about a little over 9 years now. I played more Twisted Treeline than 5's, and enjoyed that more. Just figured you'd like another opinion to tell you that even though you guys never updated TT, it was still very much loved. Thanks for reading.

i really loved TT kinda wish some champions wern't just so overpowered or just useless on the map, the rewards don't really help forgive the removal of it. reminds me of back when you guys removed dominion which i also played a lot of back then. especially when i wanted to go play a custom game with strangers. those were the days :/

Riot, I think it might be worth it to leave Twisted Treeline out of game options, but to leave it open for custom games. Assuming this is still viable.

Twisted Treeline needs to come back, we don't have any way of casually playing/testing out a new character anymore. It was nice to have a smaller map with less stress just to get a feel for the game. In Howling Abiss you can't choose your character but having multiple lanes with monsters is what warms you up for Summenors Rift.

Might wanna take twisted treeline off the listed game modes on your own website. we know you dont want to work on anything related to this mode, but that might be worth it.
