i love the design and love the story, but it just doesn't feel like taliya's kit comes together very well, like she's trying to wear too many hats
1: passive movespeed for roaming, but she doesn't have very good catch potential aside from her ult being almost 3 minute cooldown at rank 1
2: good poke... but literally can run out of poke
3: zone control mage, who actually can 'zone out' herself if she's not careful by running out of places she can use her primary damage ability
4: 'roaming mage' who has to 'set up' a bit with her q, so she can either roam and not get good setups... or set up and not roam?
5: amazing potential initation... on someone who likely can't survive the initiation. aurelion sol generally needs to build tanky to initiate, and he's got a giant stun, what do you think the chances are of a squishy little girl surviving initiating without any hard cc?
5b: i know she can shoot out the wall without riding it, but i foresee way too many people getting caught out trying to set up that perfect wall
another way to look at it is i think she has cool options... but none of them are very good
personally i think it would be much better if her q passive was her actual passive, but worked on every single ability, and instead of speeding her up, slowed enemies. so 'all of taliya's abilities create zones of rough terrain that slow enemies by ~30 movespeed that last for... 45 seconds?
rock surfing is awesome... just doesn't feel like it fits
