Players are making the game more snowbally than it actually is....

Ever hear the old saying, "Argue for your limitations, and they will be yours." This basically means that if you have a bad attitude which causes you to set your goals low, well sure enough, you will meet those low goals and nothing more.

The reason LoL seems more snowbally that it really is is because everyone believes in the "Snowball Meta", so as soon as someone dies, the "losing" team suddenly wants to throw in the towel. I know this is true, because I have seen A LOT more early "gg" and "ff15" in the last couple months than prior to that. People are going into games expecting to win or lose on the first death, and their mentality instantly goes in the drain if they are on the death side. So with people ready to lose right away, they play more poorly, and sure enough they lose...because of attitude, not because Trist or Lulu is OOP atm.

OH OKAY, THERE ISN'T AN ACTUAL SNOWBALL META, IT'S JUST ALL IN OUR HEADS OHHHHHHH

WOW

WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT BEFORE ALL I GOTTA DO IS JUST NOT BELIEVE IN IT AND THE TOWERS WILL MAGICALLY NOT GET DESTROYED IN ONE PUSH AND THERE WON'T BE TOO MUCH DAMAGE JUST BECAUSE I DON'T BELIEVE IN THE SNOWBALL META

WOW

people surrender early to escape shit games, not because you're some master psychologist. jesus christ.

This is such a bs post. This has nothing to do with player attitude and everything to do with how the game is. People always scream, "gg ff15". But it all depends on how the game goes up to that point. People don't WANT to surrender, but based off of past experiences, they already most likely KNOW how the game will go. Unless the enemy team is literally pub stomping and about to get an inhibator before the 15minute mark most people won't ff if there's still a couple towers up and the enemy team is throwing.

The mindset players have now is in no way different from how it use to be. People are getting overall better at the game and therefore these changes really do make the game snowbally because people know how to play the map more than they use to in the past.

umm not really. players have had the same mindset since league has come out.

The reason the game is more snowbally is that towers are so much weaker and die faster so dieing is worse than before.

Nope, this is riots fault. Let's go through the list shall we.

Gathering storm - Gives you a full ap rune page at 20 minutes eyeball collector - Pointless snowballing "hunter" runes - Even more stupid pointless snowball effects. "legend" runes - Same as above. Dark harvest - This is literally the jungle snowball keystone. Ultimate hat - Cool after I smash my opponent I can do it faster next time!

Really cbf typing more but I think you get my point.

Positive moral is incredibly difficult to come by.

I really wish I had a spiel I could add to this. Something with a proper body and informative insight of that of a low MMR player. But this is all I can really say. If someone were to ask how often I actually feel a sense of positivity from my team, I'd never be able to answer them with confidence. Too many try to egotistically verbally curb stop others. Too many are already so full with self doubt due to their ranking and potentially consecutive losses or bad experiences, there is an actual visible display of depression coming off of them. I'm so use to this behavior at this point, that I honestly can not recall the last time I actually believed in any sense of legitimate mention of positivity from a random player, without assuming it to be some of sarcasm or jest, like many others have a habit of doing.

So yes, I do agree that player moral and preemptive expectations do play a heavy hand in what we consider to be a snowball effect. But if this truly winds up being the core of the issue, I'd be very concerned.
