Hi, Plat 3 Yasuo main here, let me see if I can help.

There are a few tips that people already know about facing a Yasuo; poke his shield off with autos, he's weakest right after his tornado is gone, and he's weak to ganks. I'd like to go into more detail.

The key to beating a Yasuo in lane is proper minion management, and proper management is different depending on whether you're a ranged or melee champion. As a ranged champion, you want to keep the wave in 1 of 2 places depending on Yasuo's health relative to yours. If Yasuo is ahead or even, you want to keep the wave frozen a bit outside of your own tower, so that he has to go into tower range to order to hit you. You can basically do whatever you want to him if the wave is in this spot because you can simply retreat into tower range if he tries to go onto you. However, if you're ahead of him in health, you want to start a slow push, so you can poke him whenever he tries to CS and you'll have a buffer of minion support if he tries to all in you. In this case, he can't do much either.

For a melee champion, you want to slow push pretty much all the time. Yasuo is extremely vulnerable to being all inned by melee champions when he's trying to CS, and a good Yasuo will try to do a slow push of his own to discourage his opponent from attacking him. One important thing to understand is that while enemy minions are oftentimes Yasuo's best friends since he uses them to dash, they are also one of his biggest weaknesses since he's required to tank them in order to trade. If you can bait him into tanking alot of minions with some kind of defensive ability like an ori shield, you can very easily come out ahead in trades, provided you don't panic, keep autoing, and hit some extra free damage on him when he tries to get out.

Generally speaking, a Yasuo will always want the wave in 1 of 2 places. He either wants a slight minion advantage on his side so he can get free opportunities to poke with Q, but not so many more minions that the wave gets frozen outside the enemy tower. A good Yasuo will bait you into hitting minions with AOE abilities to push the wave back towards him if it starts to get too close to tower, allowing him to be aggressive again. The other position is for when Yasuo has a lead on his opponent; he will want to freeze outside of his tower, leaving a long trail of minions to dash through so he can all in you if you try to walk up to CS. The key to beating Yasuo is to keep the wave where you want it to be rather than the way he wants it to be, or there's not a whole lot you can do as alot of champions.

Other general tips for beating Yasuo include: Ask for ganks, an aggressive Yasuo player is very easy to bait and kill if he isn't strong enough to 1v2 already. Take exhaust as a combat summoner if your kill pressure on him is low, its a great way to neutralize his aggression in lane as well as neuter him in teamfights. If Yasuo misses his tornado, that is the time to be aggressive. His Q is on CD, he has no CC for a while, and his ult, by extension, is unavailable. And if Yasuo gets too aggressive in lane and messes up when trying to trade, all in him right then and there. If you get a lead against Yasuo, most champions will be able to zone him out heavily since he's a squishy melee only champion with no escape and no natural sustain.

And 1 final tip that almost no one knows about. Yasuo's ult is a suspension and not a knockup, which means it can be removed with QSS, Mikaels, Cleanse, Gangplanks orange, and Olaf's and Alistars ult. If you remove it, you can move immediately and will take no damage, but Yasuo will still be stuck in his ult animation until it is finished. - credit goes to slamurai jack (senpai notice me)

dodge his q's and knock up dont stand too close so he can dash through minions on you

Depends on character.

Yasuo isn't the strongest in anything. Exploit the strenghts of your champions.

it's possible it's the other way around: the other yasuos were average and this guy was a cut above you. It happens. due to how his windwall works, strategies for taking down yasuo vary extremely widely depending on who you're playing though. I prefer Kayle into him if I get to counter, her E is NOT a projectile but most will automatically throw a wind wall to stop her Q as soon as I'm attacking, whether or not I've actually thrown a Q or not. then I can zone him for a bit.

I checked your match history and I'm pretty sure I found the game you were talking about. Cho'gath has a tough time in that yasuo is fairly difficult to hit with skillshots.

I played Cho into Yas once or twice and did quite well, but my trick was to wait for him to CS, hit him with auto attacks to pop his shield, then silence followed by rupture. Big amounts of harass, and after you get an item or two you can practically 1 shot him following that up with your ult.

The unfortunate thing is that it looks like the enemy team played around having that Yasuo, he could ult off of just about every champion's abilities in that game. So that in itself makes the game much more difficult to deal with.

Above all else, it's extremely important to minimize the harass that you take from him, as I'm sure you noticed he does tremendous damage weaving his Q with auto attacks, your minions are just a free highway straight to you as well so try to stand up past them and against his minion wave, avoiding minion aggro of course. If you get successful poke off on him, he may just back down and go passive.

Try to dodge his q cause he can easily kill you with ult at 6 and try to make him waste his w so you can go in sometimes. Also be careful of his e because his 3rd e does more damage. I'm not like a diamond player Yasuo main I just go against alot of Yasuos. Also play champions that snowball well like Katarina. Good Luck! summoner 14 Yasuo summoner 14

Yeah... I think the main issue in that game during laning was that I underestimated his dash. As a matter of fact, that's what he took level 1, and just kept dashing everywhere, to the point where I was too low to cs... Which gave him a few level advantage as the game went on.

Thanks for all the tips, guys!

First time reply to no reading first, other than the title of this subject discussion. This is my attempt to answer with a reply to the title alone.

Yasuo I have to glance at Yasuo to remind me of the Champion. Then I easily remember he values his sword as much as his life! I try to take a far away from Yasuo as possible glance at Yasuo 's sword. Then as the Champion I am I glance at my weaponry. I try to take a helpful calculative moment to evaluate Yasuo sword. Only his sword. I already know he is a tenacious sort of Champion. I decide to not get my weapon dirty or scratched from Yasuo 's sword dominating the swords concert challenge and walk away as if having made a wrong calculation in thinking I could try to take a closer look at Yasuo sword. Maybe another time there Yasuo . Until then...

Generally you don't want to stand beside your minions. You also don't want to commit to a full brawl while your minions are up. Flashing his 3rd Q at level 6 is always always worth it unless you're under turret. Fake out his windwall if you're ranged with a short cooldown ability as his windwall CD is 20 sec. This is your window of opportunity to maximize your harass. Take out his shield with an auto, always.

When he has his 3rd Q charged up, and he's dashing to you, he is going to E Q you instead of spinning out a tornado. Most of the time, he will Q you after his R so try spamming right click adjacent to him if you have the hp to survive his ult. He will most likely miss his Q.
