How to catch Vayne
Vayne has E, Q, and ulti invis and flash. She can wreck team fights and when you focus her she just kites you and kills you.

Vayne is handicapped with a low auto attack range and a vulnerability to assassins.
Oracles lens Vision Ward Ahri Kha (etc) Focus her.
How2catch Vayne.
Option 1 ) Play Morgana. Spell shield E. When she starts q ult counter ult. Once snared, snare again. Team beats her dead.
Option 2 ) Pincer attack her. Buy 
or 
. Apply cc after tumble. Kill her.
Pretty much the best options. Lux, or any other snare can work in place of the Morg, but then you need to have true vision to pull that off.

I mean, I frequently play the support role, and the basic idea is the same as anyone else who has a deadly skill: Let them waste it first before you do anything. Save your stun of choice (or whatever your support is best at, it applies to Morgana, Zyra, and Lux supports though, as well as Blitz/Thresh pull attempts) for post-roll.
The general idea in any lane, I think, is to attack when their cooldowns are up, and yours are fresh. Obviously they can't use their skills on you if they're on cooldown, so give them the opportunity to waste them first before going on the offensive. I think that applies to any lane, but that's just my personal way of doing things.
