Raging and Toxic Behaviors
So we have all seen the quote that Riot throws at us in the loading screen about toxic behaviors, cursing at your team and failing to communicate being the cause of at least a quarter of the game losses. But how many of us actually sat back and actually thought about this?
Now I never really rage, and when I do get irritated I don't express it, I bite my tongue and say "It's all good," but a lot of people who play League tend to do the opposite.
I recently went on a victory streak while in a very cheerful mood. I figured hey it's just luck, has nothing to do with me being overly and probably somewhat creepily friendly. But, then the next day I was not in such a good mood, I wasn't really talking to my team. I did the usual, "Fill" call and tried to get everyone into their best roles, but other than that I just pinged and responded to pings no more and no less.
This brought me onto an almost equivalent rate of wins/losses.
Still, it didn't strike to me that my attitude in a game can cause a win/loss to change. But I just now got out of a game where I swear we were going to lose.
Instead of being toxic about the feeders or the thought-lacking plays made by my teammates, I supported them in their decisions and we either died or won as a team.
The other team, although they had a fed Teemo, a fed Yasuo and a decently fed Evelyn, they were all toxic to each other in all chat. Teemo and Evelyn teamed up against Yasuo and Sona and Yasuo was against his entire team, and as you can see there was no teamwork involved only never ending toxicity between the 4. Vayne didn't talk much so I'm not entirely sure whether or not she was toxic.
As I was saying, although for the first half of the game it was looking a lot like our loss, these ragers ended up getting so mad at each other that instead of helping each other out, working as a team or supporting each other they ended up making really thoughtless plays; Teemo split pushing top and forgetting to place his shrooms to avoid ganks from us, Yasuo trying to take on all 5 of us on his own, etc. Even Sona attempting to split push bot.
As you can see they lacked no teamwork, and since my team was working as a team despite our almost obvious loss, we pulled through and won. Teamed up on Teemo, found Yasuo lost 2 to him but still took him down and PUSHED. As a team.
I know this is a lot to read I just wanted to clarify to you guys that how you interact among your teammates really does affect the overall result of the game, and it's very important that you guys try to get along and respect each other.
