Need help with my hecarim!

So I main and I do not play jg with him but rather top lane. Of course the recent nerfs are pushing him to jg but I still play him top wise. Recently though I have been loosing alot against other champs, ranged indefinetly and others like and and champs that can slow or pick me off from afar. Because of this would it mean I should move my out of top and force myself to do jg with him( because i enjoy playing him and do not like jg).Or is there a way to keep him top and atleast keep up with the enemy top laner.

hecarim has pretty good burst and sustained damage. So try to avoid poking and go all in in fights. Depending on who you face using the creep wave can be to your advantage. If you fight in the creep wave you have sustain from all the damage to the champ and the wave that your dealing. It help to have an early game tanky advantage. I try to rush either ninja tabi or merc treads. With these 2 rushes you can choose whats necessary to use when facing ad, ap, and high cc characters. I dont know if you always get spirit visage but you should it increases the sustain from your W. Dont be afraid to start building your tank items before trinity force because you have good natural damage. Finally i dont know how you build him, but if you are trying full damage you wont be at your full potential. Remember hec has a weak early game. Using crystal flask is probably the best start. You dont always need to win the lane phase. Just dont feed your lane enemy, farm, and join in teamfights because you are a strong intitiator and your team fight potential is OPAF
