Reducing Toxicity You're Exposed To / Give Off

  1. Mute the entire enemy team You don't need to talk to the enemy team. All chat is just there for the occasional "nice play" and the end game "gg" but that is rarely used or in the vocabulary of players. Game after game I get people who have to say something in all chat after killing an enemy or say how bad their team is or how bad my team is. The more you don't know... If you mute them, you can still use all chat so you can still say gg at the end of the game and move on to the next one.

  2. Watch how you type things It's a chat box so no one can tell if you're being sarcastic or serious. Think about what you're gonna say and how it'll sound to your team. If it includes cuss words, refrain from typing it. Even simple feedback sounds like flame. You: vayne u fucking suck 0/7 gg ff20 cocksucker could turn to You: Seems like we're on tilt. How about we surrender so we all can take a break. It may not be true and Vayne truly sucks, but don't show it. The nicer you are, the more people on your team will back you up and agree with you. If you call them cum swallowers and wish they were raped, not so much.

  3. Address the flamer in a "sophisticated" way You can't really mute your team since that'd be a form of failed communication. Some people don't use pings and just type or there are things pings can't be used for. Jungler: Hey Anivia, want blue? Anivia: ... Jungler: Okay. Anivia: This fucking jungler won't give me blue jfc If the jungler targets blue, no one knows who he's giving it to. It usually goes to mid, but you might have a champion top who needs it the same. Or the jungler targets red and there's a Zed mid and Kalista bot. This is unclear communication. So, if you have a flamer, try to sound smarter. Most flamers don't care for grammar and just string along obscenities (see). Correct their mistakes, say the person they're flaming has better kda and assisted more than them. Flat out tell them you're going to report them if they don't stop. This shuts up a ton of people who are afraid of the new ban system. If all else fails, mute them anyway and report post game.

  4. If you're being flamed, don't respond in flame If you respond to a flamer you're fueling their flame. It's hard considering our nature to clear our names, but if you don't tangle yourself in their mess it'll be harder to bring you down with them. Just talk in pings. If you don't be toxic back, you can't be reported for being toxic. A simple "okay i'll try something different next time" will pour water all over the flames your teammate walked in.

  5. Try to fix your mistakes If you are unintentionally feeding, try to fix find where you are at fault instead of doing the same thing over and over. The enemy Leona waits in the bush for an E +Q + R? Ward the bush and position yourself out of her range.

This all day. I've never seen an argument lead to anything other than more tilt.

Fair post.

Never surrender.
