Staying Relevant in the Jungle

When I started playing League back in season 3, I decided that my favorite role was ADC, and that that was what I wanted to main. Then when Jinx came out, I essentially played no one but her. However, that got boring after a while, and so I decided to fill, eventually leading to me maining jungle.

In some games and with some junglers, I have no problems with accumulating gold and staying at the same level as my laners, but in most games, particularly the ones as Elise Elise, I end up one or two levels behind. Therefore, my question to more experienced junglers is: how does one manage their time in the jungle so that they can farm and stay leveled while still ganking lanes?

Elise is EASILY the weakest jungler right now. She needs buffing to be viable again.

I also have this problem with Vi, Diana, Nidalee, and other meta junglers

You'll pretty much always be behind mid and top lane in levels as the jungler. You should be around your bot lane's level, which is also usually two levels behind top and mid. So if top and mid are level 11, everyone else on your team should be 9-10. There is almost no way you'll be equal to them in levels.

Alright new question.

I have gotten better at managing my time, but whenever their jungler is camping/near a lane and I know they are there, my laner and or I feel the need for me too be there for a countergank. However, this results in me wasting a lot of time and experience. So, does anyone have any suggestions/know any tips for recognizing when i am safe to go elsewhere and when I should stay in lane?
