What To Buy/What To Main

So i recently got a decent amount of RP (7k) After buying JarvanIV, a summoner icon, and changing my name i have 5k left so now time to get some more champs. But i want to pick my main first so i can get some good champs for that role. I play a lot of support and jungle due to the fact that i can barely last hit besides with a few champs like Jinx Caitlyn and Heimerdinger besides that i can never seem to get enough cs early game to stand a chance in my lane. I like to jungle a lot but i always feel like when i lose its my fault for not ganking enough. I love support but when i dont have a good ADC i feel useless...so what should i do? And what are some good champs to buy?

karma is a good support for doing well even if your adc isnt that great, but i dont know alot about supporting just the basics. now jungle i have alot of views about which jungler could be good for different people, if you want to gank a lot go for shaco but he takes some time to learn, if you want to farm a lot and become a menace while still having good ganks i'd say either volibear or skarner are good choices, just flat out farming trundle does pretty well with. i do have a personal liking for hecarim as he is very fun to play. these are just my thoughts im getting into maining jungle atm if that means anything

Jungle: -Vi -Rek'sai -Trundle

Support: -Thresh -Braum -Janna (buy with IP) -Nami

Vi has been a pretty good jungler for a while now, can easily be built for damage or durability, and offer a lot of utility even when behind. Rek'sai has great map pressure and damage, though I'm not sure how she was affected by her nerfs in the last patch, and can be built similarly to Vi and Jarvan.

Trundle's ganks aren't the best, but he farms and counter-jungles very well. He scales well into the late game, is great for making tanky-champions squishy, and can duel most champions in the game. You probably want to itemize him for attack speed, since Blade of the Ruined King works so well with his kit (he has free AD, free attack speed, and shreds resistances, so the on-hit damage hurts).

Thresh, Braum, and Nami are very versatile supports, capable of peeling, poking, and initiating/counter-initiaiting fights. Janna is more specialized, but her peel in amazing when played well.

Vi and Rek are good suggestions.

I don't particularly like Thresh (I know he's good, just preference). Braum is all or nothing, awesome in the right hands, terrible in the wrong hands.

I'd rather Leona, Morg or Nami for sup depending on the situation. Leona really needs a strong adc though. Morg and Nami are a little more forgiving.

Support main (formerly Topgot main) here. If you are looking for someone to work on last hitting with, I recommend Varus. His auto attack animations are pretty smooth, so he works well for people new to minion farming. Also, you can take him as a reasonably effective AP mid for silly games if you have a light-hearted team!

If you mostly play support and jungle, you should have about three champs with different roles in both positions, so you can fill whatever gap is left in your team composition. For instance, I have Nautilus, Diana, and XinZhao in the jungle, so I can bring a tank, assassin, or fighter with varying amounts of utility. My solo-queue supports are Soraka, Sona, and Leona. Most teams have some understanding of how to play alongside these three, so they are pretty safe picks. Take Soraka for sustain/poke if you already have a couple of front line fighters, Sona for strong in-lane poke and a AOE stun for team fight wombo-combos, and Leona if your team needs tankiness or CC, or if you want to run a very aggressive bot lane (perhaps you are laning with Draven or Varus).

Of course, I can't tell you who to main. Try as many champs as you can (ARAM is a great way to do this) until you find champs that you enjoy playing. If you like them enough, buy them, but I would not recommend buying champs until you are pretty well convinced you will like them. Don't be afraid to try some of the less popular champions. You might find that you like Urgot as much as I do, or find that Singed, Zac, or Mordekaiser is unstoppable in your hands.

It's not necessary to "main" any champ in particular. Play what you enjoy playing, and you'll probably find just a few champs that you play more than any others because they are fun. Those are your mains, and you'll be a lot more likely to do well on a champ you enjoy than on whatever champ is OP in the meta of the time. As always, rule one is have fun, and help others have fun as much as you can. Play what you like and let others play what they like. Unless, of course, they like Teemo.
