Tips On How to Win My Lane?

My biggest problem is winning lanes. I shot call well, teamfight well, and can preform my role to a tee when I am needed to do so, but I can't do it effectively because I never win my lane. What can I do to win my lane (I.E. how can I pressure kills on my opponent solo, stay safe from jungler's, etc.)? I main mid, but need help laning in both top and mid.

Some of the champs I play if you are wondering:Fizz DianaKatarina Malzahar Brand Gnar VladimirViktor Ahri Jax MonkeyKingRumble Lissandra Lux

Are these all strong? Should I make my pool smaller?

If anyone can help me get better it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for stopping in!

Pool smaller yes.

For the top lane i would worry less about winning lane, its really not a thing so much as not losing the lane.

Champs like malzhar are great cause you should be able to power farm and just whittle down the oppostion. I would personally recommend you stay away from feast or famine champs. While they maybe "fun" to play, they also carry the biggest risk and all about the lane phase/ roll into mid game domination.

You know your weakness, so you should adapt for your play style.

It's all about the basics; use plenty of wards, keep one eye on the map, and know your enemy. I've shut down a lot of Katarina in lane, so they try to get kills by roaming. So I follow her and get a kill + assist for the other lanes. Playing Mid Lane I've noticed that the best way to win is to know your enemy as much as possible and act accordingly, the same old same old won't always work.

Like if I'm playing Zyra , I can stay pretty safe because she's a defensive type. I only go for kills when the enemy Katarina jumps on me and fails because of my root. Or if I play Kennen I can get kills off of mages with low mobility, but if I fight someone like Akali I just wait for the jump and ult them in the face.

Sometimes you just gotta play defensively to win lane.

Here's what helps me. If your mid lane for example, your playing Diana into an Ahri. Once the minions start attacking each other, ward one side of the bush and start farming. Early levels I don't poke much, but if Ahri hits me with a Q, I will Q back just so I don't lose the trade. Focus on farming and poking a little, then once I hit six, and Ahri's health is poked down a bit, I will go in on a combo, AFTER I bait out her charm. If I don't kill her, I will see if she stays in and wait for my ult to reset, or if she's gone back I go back too and get items. Make sure to get a stealth ward, and ward both sides of the mid lane bushes. Point is, focus on farm while poking safely, keep an eye on the mini map to watch for ganks, and then go all in when you see an opening. Hope this helps.

Know your champ and know your enemy.

Winning lane= small victories and favorable trades (this starts @ lvl 1)

GL/figure it out

(Too drunk to explain it)

A big part is knowing your champion's power spike. some champions are weak early and will get stronger later so you have to make it through losing as little as possible. I crush fizz in lane almost any game I play him, but the best ones buy their stupid sheen and wander bot or top and kill them then comes back to lane with enough damage to burst me down and catch back up. Other stuff is a bully early and needs to win lane hard or it becomes useless.

I'd say narrow your pool down a little and focus on learning the intricacies of the ones you play. If you play the same champ 50 times and get better at even 1 thing each time you'll be able to win the match ups you are supposed to lose even by the end of it. You can learn all of those champs, it'll just take longer.

Also I'm curious how you know you're really good at the rest of those things if you consistently can't do them because you consistently lose lane? Part of the issue may be not understanding the win conditions of some of the champs (big pool and not every champ plays similar style), because it is the games you're behind and have to do that stuff to win that matter most, since if you get ahead early you can make worse calls and teamfight worse without it being punished some times because you're so ahead from laning phase.

The simplest thing you can do is value harass over minions. If you have to ability to hit your opponent with a spell instead of a minion, that's usually worth it. This will vary between champions, but in general many players have no idea how to balance health sustain, they just kind of mash buttons for farm.
