Why do supports give 0 credit?

I love playing support though i always get no credit and all the blame. Even though the support is the one peeling the supp is the one making plays the supp is the one who saves the adc countless times the supp is the one who turns fights around countless times. Yet no one ever thinks supp does anything. If your adc does bad its your fault, if he does good you did nothing and it was all him. All people look at is dang kda...i love playing support but i cant stand people who are like this. Is there any elo that actually appreciates what supports do? I was gold last season and silver right now..i didnt see any difference when i was in gold in how people treated there support. Jungler invades you? Well thats somehow supports fault for not warding his jungle across the dang map during laning phase, how the heck am i gona spend wards on the jungle all across the map and ward bot lane like seriously. Adc engages with 100 health and dies? Well cant be adcs fault must be the supports fault....its really annoying. How do other support mains deal with people like this every single game?

Mute button helps.

As a support main, I give my all for my team, with no expectations of glory, or honor, or respect. I will drag myself through the mud, if I can put a ward on the other side. No matter how mean, ignorant, or arrogant the rest of my team is, I would do anything for them. I would take a Caitlyn ult and die, if it meant they could live. Your kills, are my kills. Your deaths, are my failures.

I know what I did, and I need no recognition. I am a support.

EDIT: I proudly brandish my support icon.

Easy: I don't care.

I'm going to carry their asses. They may gloat that their name now has a 17 by it, but I have 30 assists and the other team is talking shit to their carry in all chat because I removed him from the team fight.

Whoever I focus my love to on my team is going to think he did everything, but at the end of the day I saved his ass, got him a quadra, and ruined the enemies teams day and they'll never know about it because they are too stupid to realize it.

Yeah, supports being recognized or unrecognized is pretty much reliant on the people you get matched with. I just finished having a Blitzcrank that spent the entire game out-playing Leona and getting us game with a ton of clutch grabs.

Recognition is pretty much depends on what the person determines the merit.

  1. Negative events leave a larger impact than positive ones. There's probably been times where this wasn't the case, they are just difficult to recall. Probably.
  2. There are many people with ego issues.

Because ADCs are crybabies and think all they should have to do is AA and CS

That's why I picked up jungler. It's a similar role (make the plays, help everyone out) but with more building opportunities, you don't get raged at if you get a kill, and if it's super obvious you get a laner a kill (usually never the adc, do they never say "ty :D"?) they'll thank you and typically help you take objectives.

I mean, just had a game with a Vel'Koz mid with me as Vi jungle. He doesn't like Yasuo, so he asked at the beginning "Vi, you got my back?" I ganked his lane, forced flashes and all the like, and he roamed to bot whenever I was busy elsewhere to ease up the pressure (bot lane was struggling).

Being the jungler is awesome because if you got the team's back, they got yours. Supporting is more difficult, because you're glued to one person rather than constantly roaming, so you don't get as much interaction before the teamfighting phase begin. The top laner is going to remember the jungler who cc'd the enemy so they could get the kill, but it's more difficult when there's ten champions and you used your ultimate to change the field. It's hard, I know :/

Or, learn how to combo well. That's a lot more obvious, flash, and fun! Got a Master Yi on your team? Use Lulu for dat superspeed slowmo play (see what I did there?). Got a Vel'Koz that knows what he's doing? Play Braum for that epic Grand Canyon combo!

I... actually had an experience like this today and it was a 'wtf' moment. However, being called a goddess that a lot hahahaha.

I *know *what I'm doing when I support, I *know *what I've won a team fight for my team, I *know *when i've done something well, and I know and will own up when I fuck up. So, basically: I don't give a fuck what they say. And I suggest the same mindset to anyone else who supports.

If our support is on point with his warding and peel I make sure he knows it.

Then again I would imagine that not everyone is like me.
