As the title says, I want to be better at League. But sadly I don't understand my mistakes from my point of view. So, I would like some high-elo players advice! Here is my match history : http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-history/NA1/222621749 My IGN is bamsu1120, please come see my game if you have time and tell me my mistakes! I main support and jungle. Mainly because I suck doing cs and I'm using a shitty PC for now. My main champions are Sona, Janna, Bard, Rek'Sai. I'm Silver 5

So, here are some questions: 1- If one of my teammates feeds a lane, what should I do? As a support, should I go help him? 2- Where and when should I ward stealth or vision? I don't want vision ward to be destroyed quickly 3- From my match history, Did I do some mistakes with item builds? 4- What should I do when I see bronze? For me bronze is someone who insults and blames his teammates. Each person can have a bad day... 5- How to carry as a support? 6-When their Nexus is open, is it a good idea to backdoor with the entire team? My team once won every lane but still lost last team fight and game...

Some useless information: I'm Korean, but it doesn't mean that I'm good at this game! It has only been 3 months since I started to play seriously, I don't have enough experience!

im not even close to high elo....but no one responded so ill try to fill u in real quick

  1. a lane feeding is not uncommon..... you and you're team needs to adapt to it (ie build according.... group earlier etc)

  2. lots of guides on warding online...but really use your judgement (you can place 3 wards....but why do u get 5 wards on an upgraded sight stone??....to stop u from face checking and also used for putting temporary wards). vision control is super important (denying ur opponents vision)

  3. cant tell

  4. i dont get your question.....game doesn't match you against people based on their division or tier, its based on ur hidden match making rating. A bronze guy can have silver elo, like he could be having real bad luck by losing his series every time he gets there - so he'll be playing with silvers but be still in bronze...doesn't mean hes a bad player. but if you mean you meet someone whos complaining about 1 mistake you did....just mute him before he goes on and on. reading his chat wil only make u play worse. You made a mistake.... u know it, you think it in ur mind how could u had played it better....and this process will eventually make u a better player. Also try not to judge people based on their rank.... some people get lucky, while some dont. A person with 30 wins bronze 1 might be waayyy better than a silver 3 guy with 300 wins. The bronze 1 dude is still climbing while silver 3 dude is drifting around.

  5. if you wana carry, try a different role (mid or top would be the best.....adc is team reliant)

  6. depends on many things if u wana backdoor (whos going to backdoor on ur team, whos are enemies etc) if you guys won every lane....u need to group right away and start sieging....and if you're not getting anywhere...because lets say they have a ziggs clearing waves from safe distance......just start securing all drags and barons as soon as they're up. This did happen to me few times too, usually because of tank doing some real bad initiates(e.g your vi ultimates a support, ur team follows up and blows all spells on that support, their team in bush comes out and wins the fight easily) and dudes carelessly walking in their own jungle without vision of enemies.

good luck

Hey, unranked support main here. I don't have time to write an in-depth post, but here are some quick responses:

  1. As a support, it is not usually a good idea to go to support someone who is feeding. Your goal is to help one of your damage dealers, preferably the ADC due to their capacity to tear down structures, get enough gold and experience to be effective come mid and late game, then to help your damage dealers do damage without dying. Supporting a teammate that is very behind is risky business, as you will be faced with their presumably very dangerous lane opponent and may make things worse (especially if you are a squishy support who is easy to kill). It is a fair idea to shut that fed opponent down with well-coordinated ganks, but you should focus on keeping your successful damage dealers successful and effective while the ally who is behind stays back and farms until they are useful again.

  2. Place vision wards where they will be useful for clearing enemy wards for often than your red trinket allows (e.g. Baron/Dragon pit while capturing that objective), or where you will benefit from long-term vision (back side of red buff camp or blue buff bush on both sides of the map, the river bushes near mid, tri-brushes). Typically place vision wards in bushes, where they will not be seen unless an enemy walks through that bush. Place stealth ward wherever you need vision at the time, usually around an objective you are planning to capture or in the paths into an area you wish to defend. Placing stealth wards in bushes, of course, lets you see if anything is in the bush, and can be useful when pursuing enemies. I typically do not place pink wards in places that I can easily reach for ward replacement, favoring spots on the map that are a little outside my usual operating range.

  3. The first thing I noticed from looking at your match history is that you built a Mikael's Crucible and a Chalice of Harmony in one game. These two items both have the unique passive Mana Font, which will only work on one item at a time. You are wasting your money by purchasing two Mana Font items, as the passives do not stack. If you need more mana regen, you would be better off building item 3114 or item 3070. Mikael's Crucible itself is not a bad item to build if you and your target take advantage of its active effect, but it is probably not good to justify building it in every game. Consider Ardent Censer item 3504 for mana regen, some AP, and a passive that helps your ADC's DPS when you shield/heal them. Even if you do build Crucible, consider taking an AP item first on Sona to take advantage of her early poking power. You are building an early Sightstone and red trinket, which is excellent, but you won't usually want to finish that Ruby Sightstone until all of your other items are finished due to the low benefit of the upgrade. Keep on upgrading your sweeper as quickly as you can; the Oracle's Lens makes ward clearing much easier. Mobi boots are fine on all of your support champs, so long as you are using them to quickly ward, de-ward, and help allies across the map.

  4. I'm not really sure what you mean here, but make a point of being friendly and encouraging at all points before, during, and after the game. It goes a long way to be positive these days, especially if you are specifically mentioning what people are doing well on.

  5. I really hate the word "carry." I take it that the traditional meaning of this word refers to the damage carries on the team, the primary sources of physical and magic damage, called the ADC and APC respectively. More colloquially, it refers to a certain player single-handedly winning the game despite the poor play of his teammates. Quite simply, most supports are not major damage sources, and you should not play those supports that are (Zyra, Annie, and friends) just because you want to "carry." If you want to help your team win as a support, the best things you can do are avoid dying and control map vision. I notice that you don't ward very much as a support, so that is something you can improve on. Place a ward any time you think you might want vision and you have wards to place. Tactfully encourage your allies to upgrade their trinkets, maintain a pink ward throughout the game, and place as many wards as they can. Sweep for enemy wards whenever you notice your red trinket being off cooldown. Most importantly, exercise caution. You do not win games by getting kills, you win games by capturing objectives. Focus on not dying and helping your damage dealers farm safely. Defensive vision helps with this immensely, and it will help you decide if you are safe enough to risk a fight or not by telling you if enemy champions are nearby. Peel for your damage dealers in teamfights and poke when you can do so safely. Communicate clearly and encourage allies to focus on capturing objectives.

  6. That depends on the situation. If you have a clear shot at the nexus and the enemies are not in a position to defend it, go for it. That is how you win, after all. If they are all alive and capable of defense, it is often wiser to increase your other advantages by pressuring objectives elsewhere and gain major buffs (Baron/fifth Dragon), increase a gold/experience lead, or gain a numbers advantage by picking off and killing an enemy, making their defense more difficult.
