Best Support Champions
Just wondering who might the best support champion be right now? And as an extra, would you mind if you told me a little more about Bard? i have heard he is useless and does nothing. Thanks,

It's really going to boil down to how you like to play and what your strengths and weaknesses are. This...is a rough guide. Most can do 2 or 3 things or need several skill sets to be good with. This is just a general strengths list for champions in what they excel at and what is probably the most important skill to have with them.

(seriously she plays very differently from other supports but oh so fun!)

(Bonus): Bard excels at applying map pressure, this is very true at early stages of the game. You really need to be able to roam well with him to utilize his kit well. He is mediocre at best in lane and can feel underwhelming in teamfights (If you don't hit a good ult). He's a good pick if you are looking at a 1/3/1 team build as he can easily roam around and assist the split lanes and get back to mid quickly. He has some semi good peel with his cosmic bind and he can apply multiple slows with his AA if he has enough chimes.
well pretty much all supports are good enough to climb with.
I would say _nami _ has the most potential though.
I feel like Nami is pretty high up there. Decent CC, strong poke/heal, and a huge move speed buff. Her bubble is tricky to land though!
Urgot is a great support although he cant help his teammate in any way kinda
the reason hes good is because he can lower the enemies stats like: acid hunters and basic attacks lower the enemys attack by 15% (physical magic whatever) He is a great tank (call him the crab) shields his corrosive grenade lowers armor by up to 20%? (i dont remember late game its either 15% or 30%) finnaly he has a supress that swaps places with his enemy and giving urgot up to 90 amor and magic resist during and after the swap
check him out and you can do top lane with him
Every one but Janna and Soraka. At that point you aren't even playing the game. :-) 
I main support and jungle and I lately have been using Janna, Nunu, and Leona for supports.
top 3 supports are blitzcrank thresh and sona or most picked that is i myself like janna for peeling and nautillus for engages
bard isn't useless he has a high roaming with his heals and he collect's chime's in the jungle for his passive to grow he's a support more for the whole team then just the bot lane and his ult nivly timed is murder as well as his passage if you like roaming i really advice you to try him if you just like to play safe in lane don't
for solo Q honestly tanks with high Cc are best, also, non noob traps. think for a few reasons.
- everyone wants to play a carry in solo Q so an extra tanky guy is always good.
- CC saves those carries.
- you are less likely to die to a gank as a tank. especially if you ward.
- all afore mentioned can make plays that change the fight dramatically.
