How to play against a Sona support

I've been having a hard time against Sona supports lately. Early game she deals lots of damage and heals all the damage dealt to their adc and herself. And late game she deals a lot of damage even though she doesn't have a whole lot of AP, is super fast, and has some CC w/ her ult plus slows if she gets Frost Queens and Twin Shadows. I'm in Silver 5 right now but my mmr is probably a bit higher (high silver, low gold). I was wondering what you guys do to lane against a supp Sona. Do you play passive or aggressive? Any tips or info on how to play against her would be much appreciated! My main supports are Thresh and Lux. And atm I'm trying to learn Nami. Thanks in advance!

Sometimes Sona comes to lane with some hp quints or some tanky build and shes up to the level of say Nami or Lulu. Usually she comes in lane with like 30 ap instead. When Sona comes near you to harass (Q+Auto) hit her back. Don't worry about missing some cs. Early on she will take tons of damage and back off to heal (costing significant mana). Don't let her think "Oh this Cait Im just gonna Q her HAHAHA" let her think "Damn she returned fire and I was hit harder."

Sona is always going to walk up so she can Q you and your ADC...make sure to punish this whenever it happens. Will she heal? Sure....but sometimes you can do more damage than she can heal quickly. Sona is good at healing poke, but is weak to all-ins which is why Thresh is actually considered a counter to Sona just because he has such strong all-ins...if you can land a Q on Sona you should do significant damage to her or even kill her.

When I play Sona I usually get a Sheen and that sounds crazy but it chunks hard. The hardest thing I have to deal with is when I go in to poke with a Q, is getting hit back. The best way to Counter Sona is to poke her back and if you're ADC is paying attention he/she will poke back too. Sona is strong but is really squishy. She doesn't really heal back as much as you think, I think Nami heals back more. Keep track of her Stacks, on every third stack don't let her auto you. Her Q range is fairly long and she can poke you down but if you stay at the max range of her Q, her Q will deal a little bit of damage but she won't be able to Auto you for the Q and Passive proc without putting herself in danger.
