What to do when you get to lane late? (as adc)

Many times I will give the jungler a relatively fair leash, which causes me to arrive in lane a bit later than the enemy opponent, and even more so if they didn't have to help their jungler.

It seems whenever I arrive later than the enemy opponent, they get the bigger minion wave, they get better positioning, they hit level 2 first, and the either freeze or all in at 2. This causes a chain effect which I do not know how to stop, unfortunately. If I try to shove at the start of when I get there, I fail and get poked to death, or death-hooked by blitz (lol).

Can anyone help me on to what to do when I arrive late? Thanks :)

Last hit and let the wave push. Farm close to your turret. If they hit level 2 while you're level 1 then back off completely, but stay in XP range. It's okay to miss a few CS while you wait to catch up in levels. It's just 20-60 gold. Once you're equal to them in level you can start to push the wave back so that you aren't farming under turret anymore. Also, if you're late to lane because you leashed for your jungle consider asking him for a level 2 gank. It's not a bad strategy at all with the new jungle, and you'll be at a slight disadvantage for leashing because of the lane pushing so it helps a lot.

It's a simple answer to your problem i think... If they are starting golem/gromp then 4 auto then head to lane, you will arrive just on time to push. If they are starting red/blue then 3 auto then head to lane, you will arrive on the same time.

If you arrive to lane late, you need to respect the opponent's level 2 advantage, giving them room to push. Don't be baited to even cs once , if you have to ask if it is safe, it probably is not.

Always mimimize your leashing to 1-2 autoattacks before you return to lane. You do not want to get to lane late because of leashing since missing at least 1 minion of experience will guarantee that the enemy hits level 2 before you do , thus causing you to lose control of the lane until you reach level 2.

When you're hard pushing a lane, you're going to be overextended so you need to ward river. If you do not have wards, then DO NOT PUSH out the lane. You want to maintain the minion wave closer to your turret so u can safely farm. I recommend that you always maintain a bigger minion wave than the enemy does but not hard pushing the minion wave.

Obviously, you're not going to play against a blitz every game. Learn to juke skillshots. If you're not good at juking skillshots, position yourself behind your minion wave. If you have no minion wave, then position yourself farther from blitz.

Hey there, regardless of where your jungler starts this season, you should never get to lane late. I am able to effectively leash my jungler from the new Golems or Gromp without losing a single creep.

Your jungler gets his jungle buff from the second that he smites the creep. He should smite immediately and you should help with auto attacks until it is at least down to 25% HP (I stay till it's at 10%).

If you do this and then walk into lane, there's no possible way that you can be late to your lane or miss a single creep or any XP unless you are extremely unlucky with the minion aggro (they all shoot one target). Junglers should no longer be starting with their red, or blue buff directly as the buffs from the Gromp or Golems are too valuable to pass up before moving on to the other camps. They provide either faster clear speed or a stun which in both cases reduces total damage taken and reduces the number of potions your jungler needs to pop before he has to go back.

I'm gold II and I can tell you that if my jungler messes up and threatens my lane due to a late smite, or trying to start blue/red for some reason, I will leave him to his own devices unless it's an attempted invade. The level 2 in lane is extremely important for an ADC and I'd say it's more important to establish your lane early than for the jungler to have a perfect leash.

IF YOU DO END UP IN LANE LATE SOMEHOW. The enemy ADC will have pushed your wave more than you it's unavoidable and it's just how the game works. If you missed 1 creep, you'll lose your lvl 2 advantage but you will also be able to freeze the lane closer to your turret and farm safely from here where even an all-in from a level 2 leona with ignite will not kill you or force you from the lane.

If you want me to analyse any replays using op.gg to record them, you can add me in game on EUW or on Skype and I'll run you through exactly what you did or didn't do correctly.

as an ADC? same thing you did when you got there on time. Farm CS. Only now your support is on "Protection patrol" instead of "Harrass enemy".
