How To Ease New Players Into LoL

I have a couple of friends who agreed to try this game out. I am trying to teach them the game the best I can without them getting steam rolled. I've already had some friends quit early on because the learning curve was too high. There is so much to learn to be good at this game. I have the two new friends playing co-op vs. AI, but there are things that won't teach you, like last hitting, map awareness, kiting, setting up for objectives. So I have them playing support champs and going for Gold Per 10 items so they don't have to worry about CS yet. I show them how to build tanky so they don't die in two seconds.

What else have you guys tried to ease people into this game? I'd really like to have some irl friends to play with.

you are doing this wrong. get them to understand last hitting now not latter. have them try a lot of different champs, do not worry about explaing meta to them until they are level 15. Let them work on micro for a while before the macro. Exposing them to a verity will let them discovery what they want to do.

drop all your runes and masteries while playing with them so you do not over power the bots early.

Yea, i think its generally a good idea just to drop them into the deep end and have them learn to swim then coddle them and make them have to relearn shit later. I would suggest making them play adc first and learn to last hit. This is the number 1 thing for new player to learn and if they play adc you can support them to make sure they dont die and explain warding to them. other then this i would just suggest you show them some streamers you find interesting and maybe some pro matches since that is where I learned the most about objective control and warding.

i make all my new friends watch lecture 1 and 2 of leaguecraft 101. then i make them watch the lane vids. i drop my runes and masteries and go into bot games/custom games with them and have them practice just cs. then i ease them into trading

New player guide here by your friendly neighborhood Sir ArmaMalum:

Provides a good basic grasp of the game in addition to further resources to get started

Compared to other mobas league is relatively easy. Any game like this is kinda scary when starting new especially if pressure is being put on them to constantly win. Just play the game for fun and explain the basics as you go. When starting to pvp tell them to just ignore the nonsense other people are posting and not to get caught up in the drama. We all have and I have definitely raged but just try to be a better person and keep the community strong.

I'm relatively new to League and the way I figured out good play is from the pro esports. Seriously. It actually works pretty well to understand what is important, and improve your work in those areas. For example, I doubt I would know anything about warding well, red and blue buffs, using summoner 4 and other summoner spells correctly, or the meta in general if not for the times I watched the pros at work, figured out what was important, and researched those aspects. Since most pro leagues just ended, it might be hard to do until the summer split starts, but it worked for me personally.
