How do I know when it's safe to engage? Can I out trade? SHould i be poking constantly? SHould I stay back and do nothing?

These are the supports I play: Leona, Velkoz, Lulu, Nautilus, Blitzcrank, Sona, and Soraka

THing I already know about: Pink warding the tri-bush. Rushing sightstone and getting scanning lense to deny vision, Level spikes and hitting 2 first. Leona Q triple aa combo That i should peel for adc.

If you're always getting rekt, If I was you I would play way safer and I would always try to remove wards with sweeping lens. Ask for ganks at level 3 if possible, can help alot. -Thresh main Thresh - Silver 2 - promos 1 win 0 lose. Have a good day!

This video/channel could help you with general tips: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXe-zWix4aw

How do I know when it's safe to engage? Generally, when the enemy is going for a last hit (watch your minion's health bars). Also if they miss important spells (like a Thresh hook), you can trade with them. Also keep in mind that if YOU miss abilities, the enemy will look to trade with you, so you need to hang back for a while.

Can I out trade? The video I linked should help give you a better idea, but you have many things to consider to determine the answer to this question. (Your level/powerspike, the enemy's level/powerspike, the position of your teammate, etc)

Should i be poking constantly? No, it's not a brainless activity. You poke when you won't take poke back, or when your poke outweighs theirs, OR they lose CS for poking you.

Should I stay back and do nothing? Never, unless you are severely behind or they have too much zone control. There are reasons to stay back and do nothing, such as if you are waiting for them to make a mistake, they are more powerful than you, a gank is coming, etc. Don't stay back for no reason or else you will give up lane control and lose the entire lane for being too passive.

Since you say you are feeding, I imagine it happens mostly on engage champs like Naut/Leona. You are probably engaging at bad times, such as when you see an opportunity to land a hook, but you don't consider the position of your ADC. If he's too far away to follow your engage, you will take damage for no reason.

If you're dying a lot on Soraka/Sona/Vel'Koz/etc, you'll have to check your positioning and see if you are taking damage for no reason. Keep in mind if the enemy is busy CSing, you have a chance to poke them with little retaliation towards yourself. Also consider your lane matchups - if you are Sona against Blitz, you don't want to put yourself in danger just to land a Q.

Lulu: i consider her one of the most useful supports due to her versatile utility kit. and she's visually appealing. her poke is one of the best in the game.

Q is a slow mini-nuke so you can use it when running away or chasing.

i usually max W first because it allows you to polymorph them for a full 2 seconds. completely deny your opponents to use AA or abilities. use it on yourself/teammate for a quick escape or chase.

her E might be her least useful kit, but i like to synchronize E with Q. use E on their support, then Q both of them for a double slow effect. or you can E a vayne or twitch to deny their stealth. for defense, it's just a small shield.

her R is an extra 300 health at level 1 and 600 at max. i usually use it on the peel on my team or wait until all of my opponents are grouped together for the knockup. when used right, it can be a significant game-changer.

as a support, you're trying to prevent your opponents from getting CS or kills. you're not necessary peeling for your ADC. scrubs will think supports are there as a meat shield, but the only time a support should "sacrifice" themselves is when the opponent is given an opportunity for a double kill. you're "sacrificing" yourself to prevent them from getting the double kill. so yes, supports can feed if you die too much.

Your poke supports: Poke like crazy. Always save enough mana for your defensive spell(s) [Polymorph/Help Pix] [Velkoz Knockup] [Equinox]

Engaging supports: Be aware of minion damage (they hurt). Be aware of who you're locking down because they may choose to ignore you. Lastly be aware of what you're inviting your ADC to do. Supports should not be making plays where they "bait" their adc to fight in a large group of minions or low on mana or something.
