Need Advice.. Stuck in a rut :(

Hi guys. I'm in a bad place LOL wise right now.. I can't seem to find joy in Ranked solo queue any longer.

I prefer top mid, am a barely passable jungle, and play pretty poorly bot lane. I'm practicing/working on bot lane and jungle, but they are not my best roles.

Can you guys help me with some advice on solo queue? At this particular point I'm barely clinging on to silver 5. It seems like every game has a mid lane, jungle, or bot lane that goes 0/9/0.. Often quickly. I've been in games where a lane has 20 deaths in 20 mins. If it's not a run in and die lane, at other times it's more than one lane playing very poorly.

I see no light at the end of the tunnel when there is 1 or 2 lanes giving away deaths like this.

I understand that if you just keep playing games, you'll average out... there's just as much chance that the other team will have situations like the above... But my team it's only 4/5 chance vs their 5/5 chance...

At this point I'm sitting at the cusp of falling into bronze.. I almost think it's better to just not play until after they close s4.

But come s5, I want to try and understand what I can do better to get out of this play a ton of games and average out LP increases...

Thanks..

Hihi, I think the biggest change you need right now is the mind set.

If your team feeds, you have to carry. If your team doesn't feed, you will carry.

Think that way. Instead of getting frustrated when a lane "have 20 deaths in 20 min". Think how you could have help them out. If you got your preferred lane(top, mid), you can easily roam other lanes if you manage to win your lane. If you are mid, you can very possibly coordinate a play with your jungler and make an appearance at bot making it a 4 man gank.

If you are having good time at top, perhaps just after you killed your lane opponent, push your wave. Either coordinate a gank with your jungler to make a 3 v 1 mid lane gank or have your jungler gank bot while u try to pressure mid tower. In both cases, you will most likely to force their laners to back or tower hug, which opens up opportunities to take dragon.

There are many many many tactics/rotation/plays you can make, but in the end, I can't really provide any concrete advices until I have seen you in action in game. If you want to, you can add me on League, (FHMarshy is my in game name) and when we both have time, we can perhaps run a few. Maybe then I can give you some suggestions .

you're supposed to win more because YOU are on the team. They're supposed to win less because they don't have you. And YOU shouldn't feed but they can.

Taking on a leadership role without being bossy is one of the most helpful things. There are some games where nothing you do can change the outcome of the game, but in games where it's close or you're barely behind, it makes a big difference to direct your team to make the right decisions. Telling your team to fight/avoid a team fight, telling them to take dragon, etc. is what helps lead to a victory and can reduce the chances of your team throwing a game when you're ahead. Many of my losses before this came from close games that ended in defeat because a team mate made a bad decision.

Of course, this isn't a substitute for being good at the game but if you're good and you can help your team make better decisions, you should see more wins than losses (it helps to have a good score if you're going to make suggestions, if you're behind in farm or have a lot of deaths your team will not be inclined to listen to you).

It looks like you're currently in a losing streak in ranked, which is never much fun. My condolences. These losing streaks do happen, as do winning streaks, and it sounds like you already know that they average themselves out in the long run.

One thing that you can do is focus less on the outcome of the game and more on your performance. I've taught myself to be extremely pleased with losses where I won lane and made no major mistakes in he post-laning phase. If you can treat even your losses like victories, that will help you keep a positive outlook.

In order to drop out of Silver, your MMR would have to sink all the way to Bronze V. Judging by the divisions of your teammates and opponents (which isn't a flawless method of estimating your MMR), you're still around Bronze III so no worries yet.

If you are interested, I'll be on in about half an hour. If you add me I'll spectate you for a game or two and see if there are any specific tips I can give you to get you climbing again.

Edit: Same offer extends to anyone else who is looking for some advice.

Take a step back, take a day away from the game and forget about it. When you come back, play some normals and get your rhythm going again.

Spam karthus bot lane and stack gp10, freelo. or soraka. Play something with a global so everytime someone thinks they can kill someone (and fail with 100 hp left) they actually DO kill someone.
