Draven and Vayne

Hey League Community!

A while back, I played ADC Vayne for a solid month, and when I didn't get Vayne ADC, I tried to play her top. However, I stopped playing ADC as my CSing and positioning were sub-par, so I kept getting caught out, feeding, etc.

Now, I've started playing ADC again for about a week now, and I've been playing mostly Vayne and Draven. This sounds quite ambitious (because it is), but my new year's resolution for League is to get to Diamond (Gold IV last season). However, I've been wondering about the differences between Vayne and Draven, as I want to try practicing one of them more than the other so I can "master" that one sooner. I know they are both mechanically intensive, and Draven has a much stronger laning phase along with an amazing late game.

*So, my questions are basically this: *

What defines the differences between Draven and Vayne throughout the game? ** Which one is an overall safer pick for solo queue?** Which one has higher potential to carry a game?

Thanks for reading this post! Please leave me a comment about your opinions, and have a great day :)

What defines the differences between Draven and Vayne throughout the game? Draven is an early game bully that shuts down late game hypercarries effectively, namely Vayne and Tristana. Unlike Vayne, Draven falls off because of his range and his axe positioning. Draven does not have to have amazing stand aside's to win lane, while Vayne lane is all about surviving until Bilge and having good condemns. You can set apart a good Vayne from an average one through the Condemn usage. Which one is an overall safer pick for solo queue? Both of them are very difficult to master, but Draven is better for carrying because of his early game power, if you get fed enough you can't fall off until much later.

Which one has higher potential to carry a game Depends on the time on the game, if it looks like they are pure late game, it's best to play Draven to shut them down with heavy hits early. If it looks like they are early, then it is best to go Vayne to play safely and outscale like a monster.

What defines the differences between Draven and Vayne throughout the game?

Draven is a solid adc at all stages of the game, more notably his laning phase is known to be strong because hes a lane bully. Vayne has a weak laning phase however her mid game is solid and her late game is one of the strongest in the game. In terms of playstyle, draven deals more burst dmg coming from his spinning axes and hes generally very good at early game 1v1s. Because of draven's passive, he can easily snowball when he gets a few kills. His gameplay requires that you maintain catching his spinning axes since majority of his DPS comes from them. Vayne is more mobile than draven because of her tumble and invisibility in her ult. Shes also a tank killer because her W deals % hp true dmg. Her gameplay depends on you having good positioning and kiting skills. You must also decide when and when not to engage.

Which one is an overall safer pick for solo queue? If you're a new ADC picking a champion, draven is much safer than vayne. Vayne is not a good adc for beginners because she is heavily reliant on good positioning and decision making to pull off well. Draven has a solid laning phase so all you need to learn is catching his spinning axes consistently. For a player who can play both champions very well, it depends on the match-up and the composition of both teams. Vayne is a tank killer who is extremely mobile but draven has high burst dmg when he snowballs.

Which one has higher potential to carry a game?

Both champions have the potential to carry the game because they both scale well throughout the game. Generally, it depends on the skill level of the player to carry with each champion.
