Get better?

AFKs will not keep you from getting out of Bronze. On average, the enemy team is more likely to have an AFK than you are. In the games where there is no AFK, you should win more often than you lose and then you're going to go up. Even if you don't win every game, even if you don't pass every promo series, you will go up in rank if you are good.

I looked on your op.gg profile and saw that you have a high number of deaths on average. That's not something that your team does to you. If you think about it, every death is your own fault. If you had perfect decision making, you could have backed off just a few seconds sooner and each and every one of those deaths would have been prevented. You want to get out of the trap of thinking that if you are the tank, then your deaths are not your fault because you're supposed to go in and die while your team does damage. That lets you blame your team if they make poor use of your initiation. As long as you're in Bronze, you should not be willing to initiate if it means you will die and might get nothing from it.

One of your games has a replay, so I started to watch it. It was a 2/14/15 loss as Thresh. I only watched the first 8 minutes because Vayne disconnected and it was clear that that contributed heavily to which way the game was going. Nevertheless, in those 8 minutes I saw 6 things that you should be doing differently.

  1. Leave the base - If you're playing ranked, you should be playing seriously. And if you're playing seriously, you should have your items bought and be standing at the edge of the platform by 0:15. Can you imagine if during the first pitch of the World Series, all the infielders were just standing around second base chatting and doing nothing because the game had only just started? It's almost a minute into the game when you finally move.

  2. Guard the jungle - You and Vayne run straight to your tower and sit there. You should absolutely go to the river and guard either of the entrances to your bot-side jungle. Did it matter this game? No. Will it matter some day? I guarantee it. You have nothing else to do for the first 1:55 so grant your team vision during that time regardless of where your jungler is starting.

  3. Start with E - What are you going to do with Q at level 1? Flay gives you 40 bonus damage on your autoattack. That is needed for harassment and to proc Relic Shield. Thresh is a ranged champion. He does not get the Relic Shield execute, so you need that bonus damage in order to kill minions. Vayne takes the first three melee minions out from under you because you have only 51 AD and thus you must wait until the very last instant before autoattacking. The passive component of Flay is more valuable to you than the possibility of starting a level 1 fight, particularly when you are supporting a Vayne vs. a Cait.

  4. Pay attention to cooldowns and your minions - There are windows of opportunity when you have an advantage. After Caitlyn uses her Q, her potential damage in a fight is lower. After Lux misses her Q or E, her potential damage in a fight is lower. When a friendly minion is low on health, Caitlyn's movement is predictable and she is not focused on hitting you. These are the times to move forward and assert yourself. You seemed to be paying more attention to souls than anything. Soul collection is a nice tiny bonus that Thresh gets. You should barely be acknowledging the fact that they exist.

  5. Hook with purpose - Related to the above point, you should throw that Q when you have a good chance of landing it and when there is a reason that you want to trade hits. I saw a lot of your Qs miss because they were thrown from too great a range and at times where the enemy had nothing to do but dodge you. Death Sentence is more than a random stage hazard. When you land a Q and go in, you can expect that you're going to get focused in return. If that seems like a bad thing, keep the Q in your pants. I did see you land 1 Q on Lux and then not follow in with the dash. If you're not going to go in, throwing it was a mistake in the first place.

  6. Rush a Sightstone - After your first death, you bought a Glacial Shroud. It does look like you bought a Sightstone later in the game, and it appears that you buy Sightstones regularly as support, but why get a Glacial Shroud first? I don't know if this was because you thought "Vayne is AFK, I have to put my carry pants on and stop playing support" but that's still not a reason to skip Sightstone. Your team needs one whether it's a 4v5 or not, and you're the person who has to buy it.

If this was helpful and if you want some more advice (hopefully on a fair 5v5 game next time), let me know. I would be happy to help you out of Bronze.

I hate when people say the only reason they are stuck in bronze is because of afks, raging and feeding. This happens in every single elo not just bronze. We all had to to climb out of it. It took me 700 ranked games to get from bronze to plat, and none of this was duo queue. If you rely on a duo you never get better. They might just be carrying you ever game. Play by yourself and learn to carry by yourself with a champion you are REALLY comfortable on. I never play a champion in ranked unless I have at least 30 games on them and know their match ups decently. Learn to make good decisions, I see bronze players ace a team 30 minutes in and instead of going for baron they just recall and get nothing out of it.

Luck plays a bigger part in Bronze than anywhere else. You're going to have to soldier through some of those games. That and scour the net for tips and tricks videos. You haven't really given me or anyone reading any specific things you wish to improve upon so you may run into the generic "Git Gud" responses.

Work on getting better as a player. Spam a bunch of normal and every game you play focus on trying to maximize your cs, Objective taking, and positioning also don't play to win play to improve eventually you will be able to carry yourself out of bronze very easily. Some games are unwinnable but remember when u lose a game or find yourself "Tilting" just take a short break usually it will stop the "tilt"

Bronze can be really frustrating bc there are a larger number of players who give up or start raging as soon as a team gets behind. Additionally while slowly increasing your skill will get you strong enough to escape eventually, it can be hard to notice as you're doing it. I played this account bronze to gold this season and felt like I had to grind a ton of games and that it took a long time to move up. However when I played a second account to do bronze to gold w/out duo I shot through bronze super fast when I started to seriously try and played my favorite champs, because the skill difference wasn't a gradual increase and the games were just suddenly super easy compared to what I remember.

Imo the absolute best way to climb is to stop focusing on climbing. Pick 3-6 champs you want to focus on learning and identify something to work on each game (i.e. Auto attack harass or using mobility skills to dodge or reposition in lane/team fights). Having a specific thing to improve makes it easier to gauge progress and when you focus on improving each game even a loss can feel really good if you see yourself having done something much better that game. Eventually the little improvements add up and you start consistently dominating lanes/out rotating/whatever and you create a big advantage for your team every game so you start winning more than losing and you climb. It is all about what you focus on and perseverance. Good luck man, it takes just slowly improving and just grinding it out. You got this.

I spectated a bunch of my freind's bronze / silver MMR games and I noticed everyones gold per time in game was incredibly low. When someone was 'fed' in a game their CS was so low their gold was still a good 3k lower than mine in a game where I was doing average at best. So this means in a game where I'm just doing 'alright' I'm gonna have almost a full item advantage on the bronze/silver players that are fed.

TL;DR - Gold income is a huge factor in climbing, lower elos aren't gold efficient - become gold efficient and you'll climb.
