New player resources

I'm still learning mechanics and after level 20 I've reached a point where I'm finding it harder to practice core mechanics in a realistic setting. Bots are too easy now but often in normals I am getting grouped with 30s sometimes and they make me look so bad (mainly with trying to farm as ADC or top.. I just get wrecked by these experienced players who know how to deny my farm and I don't have the skill yet to compensate).

Basically, I need a resource that will give me good pointers(what skills to max first, build order, etc) and a good build so that I can jump into a new champion and not get flamed by all the raging assholes that I get teamed up with. I've found the wiki to be helpful when looking under the "strategy" tab for each champion. But since it's edited by just about anyone, I'm not 100% that I can trust it as my only source for trying new champs. I've been referencing lolpro.com for a build I can use my first time with a champ, that way I can just focus on learning the abilities and weaknesses without worrying too much about the build.

Is lolpro what I should be using for this? I know there are others but not sure how credible they are. Mobafire is just all over the place and not always helpful except to get some new build ideas to experiment with. Also, some champs only show up on lolpro with 1 build (malz being one, and it was used in a lost game)

LOL pro is really good, however keep in mind that pro's usually build against the enemy team and that their build isn't always the optimal for yours.

Compare guides and use your own (or accumulate) knowledge of the items in league.

Take a look at some of the League players on Youtube or on Twitch. Full gameplay videos on Youtube usually include the commenter mentioning what to build on the character. Make sure you aren't locked into one build for each champion though; usually only a couple items are core, with the rest being depending on how the game is going, how the opposing team is built, what your team needs, what champions are ahead, etc. The people making the videos usually also go over what to do in certain situations, like dealing with being denied farm by your opponent.

If you really don't know though, just try some items in game and see what works for you. Ignore the flamers, if you can. (Reporting for off-meta builds isn't a valid reason, by the way.) If not, the mute button is there for a reason.
