How to play without camera lock?

I feel like I need to learn to play without camera lock to get 100 times better. Sure I have map awareness but I can't really notice everything especially in some fights with a locked camera. I've never tried to do unlocked camera for a full game because it feels so unnatural and I just cant get it right. Idk how to position the camera over myself at all times and I feel without this extra vision i'm losing out on so much.

Any tips help

I have no idea how you play with a camera lock, as well as, how you win games with camera lock. Like the first guy said, you just have to unlock it and get comfortable with it. You always have to be moving your screen as you're moving or to where you want to go. Now I have to some day try smart casting.

I just wanna say I just tried camera unlocked in a game and, I found myself getting lost when doing this

Here's how you play with an unlocked camera;

Unlock the camera, then play until it feels natural. It feels awkward because it's different, there is no magic pill.

I still play with camera lock and without smartcast

Spacebar. It centers your camera back on you, so you can get un-lost.

Camera semi-lock (or whatever it's called). It gives you some of the freedom of unlocked but with the restraint that your champion will always be on the screen.

I like long range champions, and I feel like I could never play a whole game with camera locked because it'd be so much harder to hit the enemy (long range Ziggs or Xerath ult, Ezreal Ult, etc.). You could maybe try playing similarly long range champions to have a greater need to get off locked camera.

hover over the space bar with a free finger, to recenter the camera if you get lost

I would recommend the sligtly locked camera or whatever it's called, but you can't automatically center the camera back on yourself (unless it was changed recently) so in many ways it is actually harder than a completely unlocked camera.

The thing to remember is that by default, pressing spacebar while in unlocked mode re-centers the map on your champion. That is the best way to keep track of yourself when playing. other than that, the only way to get better at it is to just play matches with it unlocked. It feels incredibly unnatural at first, but you get used to it after about 10 matches or so, after which point it just feels more and more freeing.

Camera lock is so frustrating to me. I feel so confined. Dunno how people use it without going crazy lol.

I felt the same way when I first started LoL. The only way to get comfortable with it is to play with the camera unlocked.

Same thing goes for smart casting. It feels weird at first but it really helps in the long run.

You just have to let go of it and learn the hard way. There's not really an easy way to adjust to unlocked when you're familiar with locked camera.

Keep in mind that you can always re-center the camera on your champion by pressing Space Bar. No worries about losing your own location if you remember to do that.

Edit: You can use either the mouse or arrow keys to control unlocked camera, but I strongly recommend the mouse, particularly if your mouse sensitivity is up fairly high. You can also customize the camera scroll speed until it feels right to you.
