Stuck in bronze

So i've been playing the game for a few months now and have around 800 ranked games under my belt, but i'm still in bronze. I've read alot of guides and watched some pro games and tried to learn, but it just seems like I'm missing something. I feel I do decently in lane most of the time compared to most bronze players, but it just seems like half the time i just cant carry the team even if i do well.

I know a lot of people complain about this, and some say it isn't the problem, but it does seem like there are just a lot of really bad players and trolls in bronze. I mean a few games ago I had a jungler who didn't take smite OR buy a jungle item. When i said he should get a jg item he said he didn't need one because he was "just ganking alot". The other day i had a game where i ended 5/2 and my team ended something like 3/10 on average. I've a had a game where I've gone 17/0 and lost. These are just a few examples.

I main mid, and when I'm in lane i focus on just out-csing my opponent and poking them when good opportunities arise. I win my lane 9/10 times, but it isnt enough. I've heard people say that if you just win your lane consistently you should rank up. But i do that and it isnt enough.

So my question is should i focus on roaming more early game? I do roam sometimes but i dont do it too much because when I roam I lose cs. And if I gank for another lane but then they still continue to feed (which happens alot), then I basically just wasted time and lost cs for nothing. So should i just play some strong early roamer like katarina and gank a lot to carry myself out of bronze? Or should i just focus on farming even better and winning my lanes even harder? Any tips would be appreciated and feel free to add me in game.

There are gonna be some games where you team just isn't performing well, and no matter what you won't be able to carry the team.

There will also be games where you're going to get set up to carry the team, and you're going to stomp all over the opposing team and carry your team to victory!

And then there will be all sorts of games inbetween. On average, it should even out, so just keep trying! If you're at a higher level than the people you're playing with, then more often than not you'll be able to carry to a win, and you'll move up. Don't give up :)

So your post was intelligently put together and well written. Bellow is a video I made quickly the other day about climbing to gold - I've done it with a couple account now and working on this one currently (after having a bad day mind you) but should be there by Saturday night pretty easily. I think that I could help you out =) and unlike some I wont charge you anything to do so lol.

I don't really know how the MMR system and such works and I don't play ranked, like at all (Still in Provisionals, lol) but I've read that as you play more and play better (Good KDA in matches) your MMR increases, matching you with players who are just as good as you. So eventually you should reach a place where you're matched with Silver players or Gold who are more likely to NOT troll (Although they could still be bad) and it'll be easier to win matches.

But idk, hopefully someone else can enlighten us. Good luck! :)

Especially in mid lane, it's extremely easy to "Gold-hog" or have the majority of the teams gold, and the rest of the team be lacking. If you are doing well in lane, then try helping another lane snowball. If you're ahead, it's always good to help other lanes as well, ESPECIALLY bottom lane. Try to synergize with your jungler and coordinate ganks for either top or bottom to ensure a successful gank...

Also, in Plausibly Sane's guide, he emphasized the importance of wards... I'm going to agree with him and say, wards are damn important. If you have extra gold, buy a ward. If you don't have extra gold, buy a ward. Even if it's just 1 ward every once in a while, it still puts your team at a higher advantage. Vision is so important.

One quick thing that you could do is to optimize your builds, runes and masteries a bit more. Stuff like not building WotA on Ahri or Morgana (never do this), or going for more standard mastery pages. Just go on Probuilds, see what people are doing most of the time and copy it.

Best piece of advice I received to help me climb out of bronze recently was to focus on playing a very small pool of champions that I am extremely comfortable with. Stop trying to counter pick or play off the cuff so to speak. I cut my selection pool in half from season 3 to season 4 and finally made it out.

Good luck.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I'm currently working on optimizing runes and masteries and also looking up some guides for my main champions to optimize builds.

Also, if anyone else is viewing this thread with the same issue as me, I'm currently watching a youtube series called "How To Get Out of Elo Hell" by DoubleWinning. A lot of good info there
