Play what you KNOW.

I have seen this too many times lately and I would just like to implore the league of legends community to play the champions they are familiar with. I don't care if they are a "counter" to whoever your lane opponent is or not. I would rather you play a champion you play consistently than a champion you are unfamiliar with just because they're "op".

Been seeing this a lot lately, especially with Leblanc . Just because some people are good with her right now, doesn't mean you should automatically pick her if she is available, especially if you don't have much experience or haven't played her in a while.

Second point, because this just happened to me, don't pick a champion just because they sound like a counter. Especially if say, your support has already picked that champion. It's a little rude to ask someone for the champion they have already chosen in the first place, but especially if you aren't very familiar with it and just think it'll win your lane for you.

Beating a lane opponent requires skill and knowledge regardless of what the matchup is. So don't just autopick Talon against Veigar if you don't know how to play Talon. Don't just autopick Galio against LB if you don't know how to play Galio. YOU WILL STILL LOSE.

I agree with these thoughts resoundingly.. something that frustrates me to no end is when someone says "First time Yorick " or some such thing (though occasionally it's sarcasm of a trolling nature). It's absolutely impossible that every single time this is said, that it's sarcasm so this is absolutely bound to have been a real statement at some point and this point having been real even ONCE is an extremely bad sign. People should NOT play a champion that the DO NOT KNOW in a real game. Bot games exist for a reason and yes I know that bot games are far different from real games, but the point of their existence is to allow PRACTICE.

And if you just bought a champion, don't try them out in ranked for pete's sake. I just recently got kalista so I've taken a few games off from ranked so that I can get used to playing her. And even then, until I feel comfortable I won't play her in ranked.
