how to increase your winrate (Bronze-Gold)
Took me like a month after i hit lvl 30 to be gold. be it took me countless hours of gameplay and practice. here's a list of a few helpful tips that can help you improve your win rate and climb out of "elo hell" (btw nobody is stuck in elo hell, if you're in "elo hell" is because that's where you belong do your lack of game knowledge, skills, etc etc)
On to my list.
~ PMA- Positive Mental Attitude. Have a positive mentality and know that EVERY game is winnable. People tend to get discourage when they give away first blood, or they get countered in champ select, or their support is bad, etc. Just have a positive outlook, if you get discourage early on, you won't be playing your best.
~ /Mute all- Keep chat to a minimal. Unless you really have to say something, do so. But 90% of the messages that get written are just bullshit like "gg, ez, git gud, stop feeding, gg im done" etc etc. There's really nothing ANYONE can say in that game that you literally have to respond to because it's a matter of life and death. People will just try to evoke an emotion out of you, so they can get a rise out of it due to their low self esteem.
~Knowledge - Understand counters, understand how champs works, understand abilities, items, item builds, etc etc. There's plenty of 3rd party sites that cover this info. Or you can use the boards to ask questions.
~ Practice, practice, practice. I know some people don't get afforded the opportunity to play 5-8 hours a day, but if you really want to get good at something, you have to practice a whole lot.
~ Keep your roles to a minimal. I only play jungle. I can do other roles to a decent level. I only have 3 main champs, Nunu, Volibear, Shyvana. Most people in their match history play every role/champ. They'll be ADC one game, Jungle the next, Top after, so on and so forth. Their win rate is in the negatives. Try to reach a goal, i usually set a 150 game goal with a champion. a play a champion until i've played 150 games, then i switch it up.
~ Learn to stop raging. REMEMBER that there is always something positive about EVERY game, whether you win or lose. I have anger issues, and I went to anger management, but when I started playing League, the trolls seemed to trigger my anger issues sooooooooooooo bad. Like a bomb waiting to explode. Just learn to brush it off, or even mute them, and report them after. Don't go back and forth like an idiot. Focus on winning, not on your jungler because he's a "shit jungler" or whatever you think of him/her. If I do get very angry, I go to my gym (I have a gym in my house) and bang a weights until I'm exhausted. Seems to work like a charm.
~ Watch the pros. Literally every champion has an unofficial guide on youtube. They even have games broken down just for the most amateur player. I usually watch Bengi since he's a god jungler. I watch a lot of his videos, and try to emulate him. Granted you won't be able to perform as well as they do, but you can pick up certain combos. Most of the time they also show their runes/mysteries in the beginning of the game.
~ practice in normals. I usually join a normal game, and auto lock. I don't even say a single word. I get hated on, flamed on, but who cares. Chances are, you probably wont ever play with them again EVER. They don't seem to care after they're getting carried though, funny how that works actually. Anyways, when it comes to Rank Q, I politely ask people for jungle since it's my main role. 90% of the time I get it because people see that I have a very good win rate in Jungle.
~ Be nice and courteous to others. If someone does a nice play, or first blood, or saves you. just say "GJ" or "nice". This encourages people to keep playing good, and boosts their self esteem and confidence. I usually say silly shit like "omfg madlife, is that you?" when a thresh lands a great hook. Make people feel good about playing with you. I'm not saying spam this like crazy though. (SEE NO.2)
- If you're NOT learning something new from every game (win or lose) then you're wrong. Try to go back and see what you did right/wrong. If it work try again next game. It's not always about winning, it's how you play the game.
