Does exhaust work on Yi's ult?

Yes just doesn't slow :3
It doesn't slow his movement speed or attack speed.
It still reduces his resistances.
It still provides the percentage damage reduction. It doesn't affect his true damage, but it will affect everything else.
It debuffs his damage but does not affect his MS. So while it's useless if you want to stop Yi from chasing, it's still useful if you want to protect your carry from him.
