confused on mmr and lp awarding system

can someone plz explain the lp awarding system because i am confused i am getting very little lp in my games despite the fact that i am on a winstreak. every game i get less and less lp i went from 25 to 23 to 16 to 11 or something like that and that was in 4 consecutive wins my past 4 games. from what I understand of the system matchmaking should put me against harder opponents/ worse teammates each game and give me more lp every time i win but for some reason it is putting me against weaker opponents/better teammates and giving me less lp. what is happening? can someone plz explain what is happening thank you in advance

This is known as elo clamping. Basically you are below in mmr where your division/lp is at, so it will give you less to match your mmr with your lp. If you start getting +0 I would advise you to watch your overall ranking from sites like lolking.net.( for example rank 240,000 today, win a few with small lp gains, and check back when the ladders update to see progress)
