Counter-pick List?

Counter-picking has shown to be one of my worst flaws as far as ranked goes, and until I can learn to kinda know who does good against who, does anyone know of a list anywhere that has the counter-picks for every champion? I've yet to find one that wasn't outdated or was able to be edited by anyone. I'd like a current up-to-date list run by a credible website if possible.

Honestly dude, I don't think you should be looking for a list of counter picks. Most of them are soft counters or skill counters anyway, and unless you've conveniently played EVERY SINGLE CHAMPION in the game enough that you can proficiently abuse their Countering strengths, I highly doubt a list of counters is going to do you well.

What you want to do is learn generalized weaknesses and specialized weaknesses.

  • Generalized weaknesses are basically this: If you're a carry player and you want to counter a tank, build for tank busting relatively early/as their defense scales (item 3153item 3035/item 3135item 3151). If you're playing against a champion with low engage potential, try using somebody with either range or even moderate disengage. Well timed CC, however small, can keep Garen far away from you if you play the situation well. These are the super obvious weaknesses that apply to a wide range of champions and are generally super easy to remember.

  • Specialized weaknesses are champion or situation specific in some form. For example, Riven relies on her empowered AAs for her rush combos to be as strong as possible. However, her Auto Attacks are melee, and Auto Attacks trigger minion aggro. If you can dive into your own minion wave the moment Riven tries to engage, and then turn around and fight back, you can have your own army of minions chipping away at her health/shield and potentially beat her in the 1v1 thanks to the extra damage she is taking. If you play a specific lane or there's a certain champion(s) that get on your nerves, you should learn how to deal with them using their specialized weaknesses.

See, the thing is this will be far easier for you to actually counter the opponent with. If you see the opponent pick a melee fighter top lane, like Riven, you can choose most any champion you are comfortable with (preferably one who can trade early game) and abuse the minion trick I just told you. If you see a Caster Mid Laner with powerful abilities but notable Cooldowns, pick anybody from your list of champions with hard engage. If you can dodge their abilities, and then immediately engage on the enemy while their Cooldowns are down, they literally can't fight back then.

In my opinion, this is how you counter champions well. Relying on a list (especially if the list doesn't, in detail, explain to you why a champion is a counter) is only going to set you up to get let down later down the road.

This should help you out:

How to counter Riven with Garen;

Get 19 AR PEN + 9 AR, rune page.

Very defensive Mastery page, but don't forget MS and recall from the utility page.

Start with W, and Max your E first.

Buy a item 1029 and 5 pots on you first buy, rush for tabi than sunfire, get a pick axe for your late maw and you're good to go.

Just watch out for ganks.

Yeah.. i never thought that I would one day have a general idea of what every champion in league does but eventually happens, just play the game a fk ton and play a champ you feel counters what the other champ generally does

http://www.championselect.net/ This should help. It is better to play someone you are good at rather than picking a counter in low elo most of the time.

TehNACHO has the right idea.

Yeah, Cait may counter vayne (at least in lane) , but if you don't know how to play cait or versus a vayne, you've just lost lane from the start. I'd rather play someone that Isn't a direct counter, but that I feel really comfy with. Say you main varus, and the opponent picks vayne to dodge your q's.

Well, that's a quick adjustment, only q when her q is on cd, same with ult. Because you feel comfortable on varus, you're better able to adapt his playstyle to the situation and crush your opponent.

Counter picks only work if you can play the champion!

Hope this helps! -T http://briye.enjin.com/ http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/tips-tricks/W7KqoJiI-free-coaching-from-diamonds

Go to Charts. There are matchup charts available for viewing, and you can customize the spectrum based on rankings and time-frame. Except that it will not display more than the top 14 most played champions. It won't tell you why they tend to win more, but you'll understand that it at least happens. If you're looking for specific champions, you'll have to look at either MOBAFire or ChampionSelect. I recommend cross-referencing guides before making your conclusion.

Counter-picks completely leave out the entire concept of item builds, and only go by basic skill usage, as if you were playing a single-player game against bots who always had the exact same stats and the exact same items. In practice, it doesn't work that way. At all.

There are almost no real counter-picks. There are counter-items, but no champ is going to automatically trump another just for being them. There's too much else that goes into that.

The best example I can think of is if you're mid-laning a Veigar and you're not AP-based, but that's about it (even then, might wanna just swap with your top laner if it's not going well at all). The rest aren't real and not based in any real-world practice or information.
