Tips for Gold?

Just recently got into gold after me and a buddy went on a rampage from silver 2 - gold 3, me as the mid laner and him as support. i think our W/L was about 28 - 3 or so. Now that i'm playing solo again the games just don't feel the same, even if i win lane by a huge margin i still fail to carry games when i know i could have. Now i'm on a losing streak and was demoted recently, i'm never toxic and always try to keep quiet when people flame/feed or troll so my attitude is always good. Was just hoping if anyone of higher elo would like to share some tips on how they grew as a player and increased their skill level, or some mid laner tips on when to roam and advice on carrying when ahead in lane or even when behind. My mains are Lissandra Ahri Brand Syndra If that might help at all ^_^

those are good champs. I personally don't play mid and stopped playing ranked for this season after getting gold. to help in your games, see what could have gone better. are you roaming enough? could you have kill the other laner? was drag free? did you roam and not get anything from it? could you have pushed one extra wave to tower to reset it before you backed? the difference between gold and plat is objectives and how they get prioritized mostly.

if your bot lane gets kills, and jungler is around, go for dragon. if the other laner roams are you are late following, ping and pressure the tower instead of following too late and not getting anything. I hope this helps as it's all I have to offer.

You have to realize soloque is just that, you are on your own. You will win some games you will lose some. If you deserve to be higher elo you will get it eventually. I suggest that you work on your mechanics and csing skills as you are not even close to what you think perfecting these means. You can win lane every game and still lose. It doesn't matter how hard you win lane. It matters how much you impact the game. If you win lane and you still lose you didn't do enough to impact the game so that you would win. Watch the replays of your games. You may win lane often but you will notice subtle mistakes in every game you play and when you learn from those mistakes you will become a better player. A lot of gold players have a pretty simple-minded thought process, Possibly you included. They all think they have to carry the game to win and start to demoralize when they don't think they are able to. Gold players are usually starting to learn mechanically and can cs decently if not under pressure. When pressure is applied their skill level decreases along with a lot of their potential. Not only should you be winning lane but if you don't belong in that elo but you should be crushing your laning opponent to the point of where they are barely viable depending on their champion. Gold is full of a lot of one-trick pony role players that still aren't good at what they think they are. I suggest you fill roles do not main a position until you are a higher elo and have a greater understanding of this game. Do not take any offence to anything I've said because everyone goes through gold usually and its pretty similar for everyone in the sense that a lot of learning needs to be done. but you've made it to gold and a lot of people find that impossible, so you're doing good! As for losing streaks, they happen. People in challenger to bronze experience this so do not let it demoralize you. Good luck on the rift!

Your win rate is too high, 50/50 is what Riot wants for you. GL

A boring strategy which actually works for individuals who are less skilled such as myself is to play conservatively. This doesn't mean to play scared, just don't take unnecessary risks. in the laning phase: Farm well, don't feed, punish poor positioning.

For an average player like myself, this is how I climbed the ladder. Minimize mistakes, farm best as you can, and participate in team fights to gain objectives.

Sometimes you will carry and sometimes you won't with this strategy, but the one thing that you can strive for is to be productive for your team by farming and not feeding.

As long as you win more than you lose (60% winrate) you can climb past gold easily. It'll just take many games to get there.

I'm really starting to realize the impact of farming, didn't get fed in lane but instead farmed very well and only went in when it was favorable for our team, and despite being down 4 turrets by 20 minutes we came back and won.
