Analyst / Caster needs HELP !

Hey ! Unusual post here :) I've played for over 3 years, but now I need your help !

For about a year now I've been casting as analyst in local events, where there was sometimes over 150 people. I've always looked up as much games as possible on your youtube channel, LPL, NALCS, EULCS, etc. But now my university recruited me to their team as official caster (analyst), and it will give me a bonus reference when I graduate ! I'll have "Engineering+" mention on my diploma when I graduate in Civil Engineering! But why am I telling you that ? Well, I've always felt like a casual analyst, as I was bringing interesting aspects and strategy aspects to the casting with infos I learned listening to Kobe, Jatt, Montecristo or Krepo ! But now that its a bigger project, I need to educate myself even more. I would like to know HOW I could achieve that. How the heck does Deficio know so much stuff before everyone else ? Is there a way I could keep up with these unbelievable casters, because I want to be as great as possible to represent my university and League of Legends itself ! For instance, when I saw a Hecarim picked, I would mention the possibility of doing a camp before TP'in to lane with level 2, stacking his crystalline, or the highly picked or bans champs in the current meta and stuff like that. But I don't understand enough how to detect team comps in Champ Select, or Lane swaps and minion wave control. I really want to educate myself !

Thank you for your help,

Usually they talk to a lot of the players.

These analysts are in diamond+ usually and spend almost every bit of free time they have either talking to other analysts, watching vods, talking to coaches, and watching player's soloqueue games.

I would watch montecristo more, hes easily the best analyst and most dedicated. He literally watches 20 games of league a day and has a natural talent for building up big pools of knowledge and facts, also he keeps a notebook.

getting a notebook will help you a lot.

try not to listen too much to the NA casters/analysts, they are largely behind the times and are not required to be as good and kept in their job to keep it. For example, since korea is much more gameplay based than hype based, montecristo just needs to be that much better than kobe, and if you watch his vod reviews you can very clearly see the MONUMENTAL difference in kobe/montecristo's skill, its like watching T8 play against SKT tbh.

On top of just general game knowledge and depth striding, montecristo is also more kept up in every single region than any NA caster/analyst is in their own. Its quite incredible and he is obviously VERY gifted and brilliant. He also doesn't play league of legends, he doesn't enjoy playing soloqueue because it hurts his analysis of pro games and the team environment, so maybe take that into account.

Hey friend! So it is just a matter of knowing the game, youll see kobe giving a lot of info on the jungle because that is the role he plays and phreak doing the same with adc, you should talk to people about how certain matchups play out and what are the litte things that a certain champ does.. I would reccomend talking to a person who mains each role, so one top main, one jungle main, ect.. also you should be looking to watch vods of the other regions, namly china and korea.

If you want to you can add me and we can talk about the game!
