MY SUPPORT IS SO BAD
Let's set the stage, you enter a solo Q game and everyone else picks their role and the top lane main is forced to support.
I'll put it simply, he's bad.
He doesn't know how to correctly space out his cooldowns, when to get sweepers, when to ward or where to ward, what peeling is, and win conditions for certain lanes. He's bad mechanically and knowledge wise. Essentially, your support is going to lose you your lane.
Let's see why-
Bot lane revolves mainly around the support denying and creating opportunities for your ADC to get ahead of theirs or at least dodge a win condition (E.G. Vayne gets first blood on Graves, Vayne now can deal equal damage due to gold and exp lead). The ADC champion is essentially useless in this stage, your support does as much AA damage as you and has CC, so you're pretty reliant on your support to set you ahead.
So how can you deal with bad supports? Simple, you teach them. You give them advice if they are willing to listen ( If and only if, if they are not then mute and play as safe as possible (Playing safe means grabbing whatever farm you can whilst being exposed to minimal danger of trading/killed)) and effectively teach them how to play the role.
Let's see what basics we can scrounge up to help your bad support at least try to carry his or her own weight -
1. Sightstone Remind your support where to ward and when to ward, as an ADC you should be checking the map constantly so you will be seeing dark spots on the map whenever wards are down or before they are down, so let your support know to ward ( And please, for the sake of embarrassment don't get in catch range 1v2 when your support is warding then proceed to bad mouth your support - he's just trying to do his job).
2. Peeling Let your support know who to peel off, and if you have to, how to peel. "Janna, try to R right after you see Zed coming out of his ulti". That's all you need to tell her. "Leona, instead of jumping on their 0-10 ADC can you peel for me? Leblanc is dealing tons of damage right now". Players aren't used to people listening, but give it a shot, you won't get the nice non toxics every game but you'll be surprised at how many players are willing to listen (before they tilt).
3. Item build Okay, you're an ad main. I totally suggest you learn support too, but if you don't you can still help your top lane support fill in on what to build. You've seen support mains build things, and don't be worried if it's 'out of meta' or 'you are not sure' if you've seen it on a support last game, most likely it will work this game. Teach them what to build if you know they're completely clueless on what to do, even add in your opinion if you can. "Soraka, would you mind going Mikaels after Talisman, I keep getting ulted by Sejuani and you aren't getting hit - just me". Explaining your situation will allow your support to also know WHY you want that specific item instead of "Get mikaels after" Soraka: ok 4 wat u want me 2 cleanse grave smokscren?
4. Patience Be patient with them. How would you feel if your team forced you into a lane you can't play and proceeded to flame you for your lack of ability in that lane? I'm sure that happened to you guys before. Instead of bashing your nooby support, lead them and show them the ropes.
Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed my way of dealing with a bad support. Remember, keeping a good attitude and atmosphere lets you keep a good score until you start feeding.
as possible, favorite champ, one would say I main her, and if my carry is more toxic than a fed
dart, I just refuse to heal them until they beg for my forgiveness. Sure, it's pretty rude to get them killed like that, but they need to learn their lesson. And when they realize that they caused this upon themselves, sometimes, they start acting a bit better.
Actually, more often than not, they do say that they're sorry and shouldn't have done it in the first place. But this is after they've fed the enemy to the point of no return.
