What to do in Bronze?

Hey everyone,

This is not a QQ thread, but I'm really just stuck in Bronze.

I recently went on a 0-6 losing streak.

First 2 games, a Riven that doesn't leave Top lane under any circumstance, and loves to brag about CS.

Next game Caitlyn AFK so I solo laned with Alistar (Bad internet sucks)

Next game, our team just did bad as a whole, team-fighting was rough, so everyone, including me, had a part in that problem.

Next game, Mordekaiser fed on the other team, roamed like no tomorrow, but the team doesn't recognize the fact that maybe they can't one on one him.

Next game...-.- I finally get my main role, as a jungle, fed bot lane 4. Fed top 1 and got a kill myself. Mid was pushing, so I couldn't quite gank him right, but he did really well. So we had 7 because we got first blood by jungle invasion, though they got one of us. Score was 7-1. Bot lane, though fed, gives 2 kills to their Varus. Top lane recklessly pushed without a ward. Team was scattered. I'd ask grouping for drag, but mid would continue to farm, bot was getting destroyed. "Okay, typical games." I thought to myself...then something absolutely pissed me off. I'm Xin, top is Yasuo. They're Varus is fed, I dive their Varus, get him in the air, Yas fails to follow up and instead goes for Rammus...-___-. We lose that 3 v 3 and get wiped. Now we lost, so that's that. They also refuse to listen to pings., as not retreating when I tell them, then gives the enemy a double because the ADC wanted that 6 cs. But what irritates me is that people don't know how to play the roles they call.

Our Vayne has a habit of playing tank. She likes to tumble right into enemeies and has no concept of staying back.

Our Thresh doesn't know how to Flay or Hook...Misses 90% of the hooks and Flays the wrong way EVERY time.

Our Ziggs...-.- He was good, but he couldn't think of building a Rabadon's, so as a result, he had tiny damage output.

Our Yasuo is bad with hitting his tornadoes and for his life cannot follow up on an airborne, though his other mechanics were pretty good.

I don't even know what to do anymore. If I play a team focused champ, I can't get follow ups. If I play lane, either I do bad (usually I do well in lane), or I simply fail at carrying. Should i just give up on solo queuing? I'm feeling hopeless about Bronze...If nothing else works...I'm going to main Tryndamere.

Edit: Mkay guys. Thanks for all the tips. I think I finally get it. Ranked and norms are no different and are all opportunities for improvement. I should solely focus on my mistakes and errors and take every death and loss as a learning experience.

Stats can't tell the whole story, but a quick glance at your history shows some pretty low cs totals. If my eyes aren't playing tricks on me, you only killed 19 monsters in the Xin game that you were complaining so much about. That's right in line with the Bronze concept of jungling that I see so often: start red, wolves, blue, and now I'm done killing camps forever. Just run back and forth from lane to lane looking for fights. This is a losing strategy that barely works in Bronze and certainly doesn't work anywhere else.

Your other ranked jungle games show similarly low monster kills. It suggests that you have a large misconception about what you should be doing as the jungler. The reason that you put 4 people in lanes and 1 in the jungle is so that your team gets more gold and exp than they would with 5 in lanes. If you completely ignore camps for the entire game (and really, you would have to completely ignore camps in order to only have 19 jungle farm), you might as well be playing a 4v5.

Every time people get on here asking about how to get out of Bronze the usually say " this person did this, this person did that. These people went afk. This other person fed this game".

What they should really be saying is " Why didnt I ward here @ this time to get vision on a preventable gank I really should have Ulted in this direction at the same time that X champion ulted Man my cs sucked that game I really should warm up in a custom before going into ranked"

Stop worrying about your team. You cant control what they do. What you can control is what you do. What can you do to make an impact in that game.

Didn't read, but if you truly don't belong in bronze, then you have an increased chance of winning games in bronze compared to other people, which will mean you will eventually get out of bronze.

Lets say player A, who belongs in bronze, is on the other team. Then there are 5 potential people (himself included) that will contribute to losing the game (afking, feeding, trolling, etc).

Then there is you. Lets say you don't belong in bronze. Then there are only 4 potential people (less than player A) that will contribute to losing the game.

So statistically you will win more games than people who don't belong in bronze. So chances are, if you play 100 games in bronze and you don't get out, then you belong in bronze.

Playing support in Bronze sometimes isn't terribly bad. If you can play a support like Leona, Thresh, or Sona, you can help to direct the pace of the game and provide heals or cc for your adc/carry when they go into a bad trade.

Best thing to do is to be positive. Stick with it. When you hit a loss, just stop. It's likely that you're just going to keep losing. Try to get people to pick counters and roles they are confident playing in champ select.

It's very difficult to get anywhere in bronze. I find that Avazion isn't correct. It's not statistics or being a good player that gets you out of bronze. A lot of it is luck. Luck that you don't have 3 trolls in bronze v who play to harass or rage on your team. Luck that you don't get 4 games in a row with afks (like I have). Or 3 games in a row where you have first pick, call mid and the last pick locks a mid and then duo's with you (like what happened to me).

It's tough, stick with it. When you find yourself frustrated, queue up a bot game and annihilate. It's a lot of fun.

If you lose a game, take a break. It's really that simple. Don't play again until you have vented and you will play better the next game.

If nothing else works...I'm going to main Tryndamere.

This could legitimately work. You cannot rely on bronze team-mates, you need to play a good scaling champion and give yourself a massive gold advantage.

I think it's best to just main a champ until like plat or gold and learn more champs there because there isn't a whole lot of teamwork down in bronze and you need to be good enough with your champ (or at the game) to solo carry. So yeah if you are good at trynd just spam him in ranked till you get out of bronze. When I was bronze I spammed warwick top because I was pretty good at it and almost always won lane. When I got ahead I would roam to other lanes with my ult and help them get kills too. Now im plat 4 and I can confidently play about 15 champs in ranked but I owe it to warwick :)

If you want to "get out of bronze", then simply play a large number of games where you're at least average for silver and you will eventually get there, simply by having a 1 less chance than your opposing team for having an AFK/Feeder (IE if you don't do those, you'll win more than lose at your skill level, on average).

If you want to "get out of bronze quickly", then start hitting CS totals of much higher levels and win your land hard. Force junglers to camp you (or if you are jungler, counter-jungle and screw theirs), win trades consistently + snowball your lane then roam and screw over other lanes. If you're in a game with people well below your level you still can't win 100% of the time, probably not even 75% of the time. But you can be very disruptive and gain a skewed win% and you can do it as any role. It's slightly harder to be completely disruptive as either bot lane role, though a high CS ADC can be murder on low level games (if you're really winning lane the other side won't have one and you'll hit like a truck). For supports you'll want stuff that punishes bad positioning because at low levels that's increasingly common. IMO it's a bit harder to carry as a Soraka support in low levels than stuff like Thresh, Alistar, Leona, Blitz which can screw over the lane for the enemy really fast...though if you play well as Soraka you'll still win much more than you'll lose.

Don't be in a hurry to get out of bronze...silver can be just as bad. Plus with smurf/trolls they want you stuck in bronze. For instance, I just made b4, and someone in my team was up for promo to b3. So the Ashe ADC says " This your promos?" the guys say yes it is...Ashe then says" okay...I'm troll then" and immediately started to intentionally feed so this guy lost his promo match.
