I just bought renekton a few days ago and I've had some good games but I usually struggle with him but I was wondering if you could give me some tips on him. P.S unrelated but my forums say I'm level 21 but I'm actually 27 just wondering :p

I'm a terrible Renekton. I'm gonna camp your thread and hope I get tips, too.

I think most of my problem is that I don't play toplane, and I don't know how to lane against toplaners. This might sound silly, but fighting that Wu in a teamfight later in the game is ten times different from playing against him in lane.

I think I start w for the stun, then go e, then q. I think, ideally, your combo should have you e'ing in, w for stun, and then maybe q if there's time? E back out if you need to. Make sure you hit your opponent with e so you get to use it twice.

I build bruiser... Uh, merc treads, I think hydra and some other damage item, then tank all the way. Spirit visage seems to be good?

His q is super for waveclear and sustain. Q all the things.

I haven't gotten the hang of the fury mechanic.

I haven't played Renekton too much and haven't seen him much lately but I'll apply what I know...

Start either W or Q and a Doran's Blade. If you start W I suggest starting your lane by staying one creep kill ahead of your opponent so when you trade you're less likely to take too much creep dmg. Watch your opponent extend to last hit and force a trade because you're dominant early game. As Renekton you are very strong early game and you're gonna need to learn how to abuse this. I believe Q start is ok too if you want to do area of effect to the minions and splash damage onto your opponent. Whatever you do max Q first because a lot of Renekton's strength is being able to heal from empowered Q's and outlast the enemy while being a lane bully.

Generally in solo queue unless you outrange your opponent and can farm despite an enemy having minion pressure and exp advantage you want to try to exert your dominance in lane by slow pushing. Just don't push too fast so your opponents get free farm under turret. Also ward and watch for ganks. Because Renekton is a strong manaless laner with a good area of effect damage skill you can always try to exert your dominance in lane. That is unless your opponent can outrange and kite you...

When building Renekton be aware tiamat is a very efficient powerspike. You don't necessarily have to complete it until later though. Only if the lifesteal will come in handy. Generally extra hp from your first Giant's belt will be more useful than completing hydra. Hexdrinker is a very underrated first purchase if you're playing versus an AP top lane. Spectre's cowl is still good though. Brutilizer is a strong item too of course...

I've heard if you have tiamat/hydra you can use its active to unstun yourself when you use W on enemies.

You'll especially want to look to trade when you have your rage empowered abilities. Generally you'll want to use empowered Q for extra healing, there are situations empowered E and W though.

Lvl1 q (don't fight at all) Lvl2 w (feel free to trade with 50+ rage w>q>aa>walk away) Lvl3 e (combo is e in with 50+rage>w>q>aa> e out through them) Max r>q>e>w I like 21/9 when you think you can kill make sure you R BEFORE your combo for max damage Solo queue: Flash Ignite 5s: teleport / whatever If 21/9 rush hydra

Items are an important concern when playing Renekton. You should always build correct items and counter build what your opponents are doing. For me, I would start off with Dorans Blade and Health Pot, but this could change to Dorans Shield if I’m against someone who does heavy damage pre-6.

Standard Build Includes: item 3074 or item 3071 or item 3156 item 3143 or item 3065 or item 3026 or item 3083 or item 3075 or item 3068 item 3047 or item 3111

Should I be building one or two offensive items? I usually build Hyrda and Cleaver is that ok?
