When do you recall?

Hey guys, just a quick question here. Recently I've been playing 5v5s as ADC, and I've noticed (and even in solo queue) that in bot lane nobody recalls until they either die, or have enough gold for an item. And the person who doesn't recall has to either recall immediately, or to be a huge item down. Sometimes if that ADC has poor wave clear, then the enemy adc can shove them to their tower and force them to miss cs if they back. Alternatively, in our 5v5s, whenever we back, the enemy just goes straight for dragon and we end up having to rush our asses back and barely manage to save it sometimes. How do I prevent this mad dragon scramble? When should I recall as an adc.

The game time logistics change in variance from game to game. Champions as the opposition or the enemy changes too. There are some games where I can make my first recall in having held any lane to a level 6/7/8; though not very often; and this is usually when I have to minion fight more patiently considering the level of enemy team aggressiveness.

Though, there are games when I might have used all of my health snacks and need more, and I am only at Level 1/2/3. I disregard the gold, and return fast to my lane. The lower levels are usually when the enemy team is more aggressive.

Recall is for you to heal when the healing is needed most. I used to live with a quirk of liking to have 5 item 2003 health snacks, but the Quirk would defeat me more than just running with the 2 item 2003 health snacks and load up when my health is low only. I try to never own any quirk to recall for any foolish reasons driving the need to recall; other than when my health is low. Then when attentive and not distracted, I can load up and upgrade fast, I try not to dawdle or use too much time in recall health healing. The quirk of Shopping for your build at the wrong times inside of recalls could be the Quirk which could own your defeat demise; so be careful of that as well.

This is my second time building and account to a level 25, and this time I am beyond to a level 27 almost level 30. I know I might never play ranked, but I know I own some logical thoughts in supporting the Riot League of Legends online video game Realm. I also, have made some of the mistakes which have defined to be some of the best learning lessons for me, as I have shared in this subject discussion comment post.

This comment has linked me to your name in boards. I will not be playing until next month. I also usually play near a group of friends, maybe more passionate about League of Legends than some people I have shared comments posts here in the boards. Should there not be the answer you are looking for, or none other than mine, as I log on then; I will ask those friends of mine for you to see maybe if they have any answer to share for you.

Might be possible in only receiving a standard answer. Recall is for healing you health, so use Recall as your discretion, or as you prefer. Just be prepared.

As an adc main I can say early game is all about the blessing / curse of the item 1038 . I swear my win rate is less than 25% when I can't get BF sword on the first back and the enemy does. I'm not going to say apply this to the ranked 5s dragon issue I'm talking about solo queue, but heres my advice. An ideal time to back is when you can pick up an item or component and return to lane without missing CS at your tower or losing the tower itself. You probably don't wanna back for just aitem 1018, but if you got the chance you might want to back for item 1037. Now if you get to decide what to do with the wave (enemy adc backed first / died), you can freeze or shove it to the turret. Freezing is good when you are ahead and you want to force them to fight away from the safety of their tower, it forces them to overextend for CS. Shoving into their tower so they miss it is always ideal, but you have to take into account when they will arrive back in lane. If you don't have wave clear and take too long, they will arrive back in time to clean it up at the turret. Then you are either forced to stay without buying or back and risk them freezing it against you. Remember if you shove it into turret quickly and the wave dies before the next wave arrives the lane will reset as if it were 1:55. All in all, a lot of it is controlling the minion waves IMO.

FuryofThorns left a confusing note, but he was right in saying to use recall at your own discretion. Healing, buying pots, items, etc. I play all over the map, but I generally know what item I'm going for first even before the match starts. So I know the gold I'm aiming for when I recall. Watch your CS(and definitely watch your enemies CS.) and watch your gold. Even if the enemy pushes you to your tower, sometimes they're losing out on farm because they're trying to push too hard. If you're up in farm that in turn means you're up in gold and will have the advantage when you return in lane. It also leaves them open for ganks. Just ping your jungler and shut that crap down.

If you are playing most ADCs your goal in early lane phase is to farm until you have enough money for BF sword

Kinda late but usually, it's not exactly a good idea for your entire team to recall at once, especially if the enemy team has pretty high health bars. Only recall when you're low, is a general rule. In the laning phase, I usually try to wait it out and recall once I get level 6, or if I have enough for a B.F. However, if the enemy chooses not to recall, that can be pretty bad as they will push to your tower and chunk quite a bit of health. Usually, it's a good idea to have you and your support recall at different times, and if you're waiting for them to get back, play very passively. I usually choose to recall when the enemy does so but you can often take the advantage and push your lane. If you really need to back and the enemy isn't going to recall any time soon, ask your jungler to help keep your lane--it won't necessarily be a problem either, since they get extra farm anyways. As an ADC, it's good to have your support freeze the lane by having the minions follow them in a circle around terrain (if you're on blue team, lead the minions up close to the tri-bush and towards where the krugs are) rather than tank up all the aggro. In teamfights, if you win, it's generally a good idea to just rush dragon and share the damage taken unless everyone on your team is at <30% health. If your whole team recalls and the enemy takes dragon, there's no need to rush back and try to steal it. Instead, let that one go and look to take other objectives such as top or mid turret. That said, you should always have YOUR ENTIRE TEAM be actively warding. You should have an upgraded stealth ward trinket by the time you're level 9-13. If you know where the enemy is, you know whether or not it's safe to recall and push a lane. Always push your lane before recalling. Always.
