Make sure you can play at least 1 champ in all roles decently well before starting ranked. Hopefully a champ that isn't picked/banned a lot. Also, make sure you can support. Support is probably the only role you will be forced to play. Make sure you have tier 3 runes. If you are not a competitive type person, then you probably shouldn't play ranked.

you need champions for all roles get some mid laner get more supports, morg gets banned alot and its risky to only have 1 champion at your disposable left get some more top laners, variety is key due to the vast amount of favtors in top lane nasus isnt viable jungler anymore, fk that but tryn and xin is fine

When to start ranked.

I did my ten promos and came out skipping bronze and going directly into silver 3, so my opinion may not be worth a lo but here is how i suggest it...

DO NOT USE IP TO BUY CHAMPS

again

DO NOT USE IP TO BUY CHAMPS

just to make sure you heard me. The one thing in this game that can only be bought with IP is runes, everything else you can buy with money. Depending on if you have a job or not depends on if the investment is worth it. I find a champ I really like, do all my research, watch videos of people playing them, then if i'm ready for them i buy them. 5 dollars. That's generally how much it costs for one champ. That's honestly negible. That's a pack of cigarettes (if you are a smoker) that's 2 monster energy drinks. Whatever. If you plan to play for a while the joy is well worth the expense.

Now onto what you should spend your hard earned IP on.

Ruuuuuunes.

You NEED (more on this in a second) at least one rune page for every position you plan to play (which is every one of them). 5 rune pages. At Least. Filled up. There are lots of guides out there on what runes are the most cost effective. I personally do not buy per level runes but flat runes as my style is get ahead in the beginning, stay ahead for the game. Your style may be different (DO YOUR REASEARCH).

You need to be able to play every single role effectively before you start ranked. 9 times out of 10 you will be looking to fill whatevers left unless you want to be Mr. Mid or Feed guy (and NOBODY likes Mr Mid or Feed guy) This does two things for you.

A. You become a team player and can give people a better shot at playing what role they are best at B. You become more experienced in each role which makes you a well rounded player

Now i said effeciently not perfectly. When you start a ranked game depending on what spot you land generally what you wanna say is spmething that comes to

"best role mid, can play top or adc, worst role jungle"

Communication is key in the oppening screen. 1st impressions are important and this tells your team most importantly that you are a team player and just want what they want

To win...

Now on to why you need so many complete rune pages. Because you never know what you might have to play.

Now that we are learning every role let me ask you.

If I call out a lane can you name at least (preferably) 3 champs per role you can play?

If yes then congratulations you are most definitly ready to play, as long as you have those lovely rune pages filled up.

If no... then don't start until you do, or at least two.

I say 3 because of the banning. 3 is a good solid number that will still give you some working options if say all 6 bans somehow are the only champs you are good with. (not very common, as you play ranked you will learn who the most commonly banned champions are, and generally if you like a champion that has a high ban ratio you want to make sure he isn't the only champ you can play for a role)

For example. When I first started playing ranked the only position I could play was support blitzcrank. He was my best champion and basically if I picked that champion I would win 9/10. Wellllllll 1st ban happens and he got banned. What could I do I wasn't great with any other champions so yeaaaaah didn't go so well.

Don't be that guy

TLDR

Buy only runes with your IP, use money for champs Dont start ranked till you can play every role decently and have a good number of champs for each role

Or else you may find yourself in bronze hating your life.

Lol j/k

Ranked is easy, you just need to go into it in the right state of mind, and understand it's not how good you are with a specific champion, but how good a player you are overall, and a good player can fulfill any role on the spur of a moment. :)

  • be able to play all roles just a bit, but main one or two. it is ok to really struggle with one role, but try with the role as much as you can since you may be forced to play it.
  • 30,000 ip? make sure your runes are good. other than that, champs are up to you.
  • I would say have 200 plus wins in normal before ranked (some say 300 or even 500, it really depends on the person)
  • have fun, don't take it too seriously; it's not life or death.

Before you start ranked:

  1. Learn and master atleast 3 champions for atleast 4 roles. (For example, Im awesome at Supp, mid, jng, but I *cannot top, and I'm learning adc)
  2. Get at least 1 rune page for each build (1 AP, 1 ADC, 1 AD Bruiser, 1 Tank, 1 Mixed or something)
  3. Learn counters/matchups for all your champs before starting ranked
  4. Learn generally what you need to build VS specific matchups (For example, if you're vs a 4 AD team, you should build some sort of armor) item 3157 item 3075 item 3110

Honestly, nobody should start ranked until they feel comfortable in every role, but nobody does that, so just go with ^

Generally the best thing you can do is specialize in one champion that can do multiple roles. You seem to have that with Tryndamere Nasus, but I would highly recommend that you jungle them a few times in the new jungle to make sure they still can. The new jungle is radically different than before. That way you have the confidence of playing your main and several roles to play them in.

It's also a good idea to learn 2 or 3 secondary champs that fit the roles your main can't, just in case you get one of those roles or your main is banned out or picked before you can. You don't have to master them, but be competent at them. And make sure your team knows who your main is and what roles you play best every champ select.

please don't jungle Nasus lmao
