Malphite, Nasus or Lissandra

I enjoyed playing top lane Tryndamere for quite a while, until I reached towards 25 and most of my friends told me that playing Tryndamere in ranked solo q is really difficult, there is too many counters and cc that can shut Tryndamere down. So I started to consider other champions, I did poorly with Darius and even worst with riven. I am really confused what champion could be played well (without super skill shooting) in the top lane. I heard recommendations of Malphite , Nasus , and Lissandra from my friends, but I am those kind of people, who only want to stick in this top lane with this exact same champion every match in order to master it, so what do you guys think about these three champions, pros and cons, play styles or do you guys have better recommendations? Thanks for spending the time reading all the ways to here, it would be great if you can answer my question!

I've definitely not heard of lissandra top.. so I think im gonna vote for...Malphite!

definitely has to be malphite, this guy is so versatile he can jungle, he not amazing.. but he can do it! his ganks at lvl6 are devastating he can tank, he's a rock... no shit he can be tanky he can support, same pros/cons as jungle malphite really he can mid, usually if you are building ap, you should be able to instagib the other squishy laner with your ult he can ad, has bonus AD steroids, I heard he can achieve some of the highest AD in game he can ap, see mid malphite (varying degrees of effectiveness tho, just saiyan)

Susan is a risky pick if you fuck up, ur done for.. you will be sooo useless you also can't first pick Nasus either, the other team is gonna see it and pick champs just to screw you over then again you cant really first pick top lane either

Malphite - Has decent laning phase, and able to safely trade pokes with his Q while absorbing damage with his shield passive. His Q & ult also make a great CC combo during assisting jungle ganks or in teamfights. A very capable jungler too. Prroblem witth him is that he gets oom a little too easy during laning phase as his abilities' mana costs are a bit too expensive. Try to be smart in knowing when to use your moves wisely.

Nasus - Has natural sustain to trade health from being poked down, and with good Q farms, he can easily dominate the game solo, or if not, power drops dramatically. When playing Nasus, I advise you to only build tank items on Nasus, as building damage items will only make him pretty squishy, even in your ult. One of the best damaging tank champs I have ever played. One important tip in playing Nasus: Always use your slows on the enemy carries. Eg. A fed Vayne or Xin Zhao.

Lissandra - Powerful & decent pokes due to her passives, making her pokes costless. Also has an efficient escape mechanic with her E whenever she gets ganked. Also, she is super squishy, and has no strong lane sustain like Riven does. I'm not sure what I'm suppose to say about her much, cause I kind of despise range mage champs to be taken to top lane instead of mid lane.

In my opinion, I would state that Nasus is a more pref choice for me.

All of those champs are good but you will need to pick the champ that matches your play style. But i wouldnt completely write off trynd. he may not be the strongest top laner but he has great snowball potential and if you manage to get to late game ahead you can carry your whole team. Most of the time you are better off playing a champ you know well then what is popular.

i recommend malphite cause he can be played 5 different ways top lane:

AD Fighter: free tiamat (passive cleave stacks with tiamat) and 40% AD and armor increase, making you lethal and tanky for a few seconds AD Assassin: there are no enemy minion waves anymore. lee sin levels of diving AP fighter: just regular malphite, OP Q's AP Tank: toughness for days Full tank: pop that w and watch the enemy team hurt themselves attacking you

My personal favorite is Shen, because of his ability to win most matchups and keep enemies out of his tower. He does a lot of damage, while remaining SUPER tanky. Plus he provides practice with utmost map awareness and support. Another good choice is Jayce, as he is dominating top lane lately

Lissandra is really good if you can put in the time to play her. But because you are not highly skilled yet I think you should go with Nasus. Malphite is just kind of weak right now.

Nasus is a safe choice for playing top lane; he can build tanky and, if you have the breathing room to farm, still deal huge burst damage with his Q IF he gets lots of stacks on it. His Wither is also a pretty annoying CC ability.

Personally, I love playing Garen in top. No resource and a passive regeneration outside of non-minion combat means that he can stay in lane for a very long time. He's got some pretty good base damage and waveclear, and can build as either a devastating fighter or a tank. After level 16, he becomes almost immortal outside of a teamfight.

With Garen and Nasus, one focuses on playing and farming safely, and they are rewarded with lots of late-game power. But if you're looking for someone with more damage, then Tryndamere and Riven are also great options, sacrificing some early survivability for the potential to get REALLY fed.

Notice how all of these but Nasus have no resources to run out of. This makes farming and pushing much easier. Nasus needs to be more careful with how he spends mana, and you're golden.

TL, DR: Garen and Nasus are both good and easy top laners.

Would using RekSai, Vladimir or Gnar be a good option in this case?
