Finnaly achieving a positive K/D ratio, next step?

So I'm in Bronze V, usually solo que and I'm working on trying to improve my game to get out. I am to the point where I am finally getting a consitant positive K/D ratio each game, and I have an acceptable amount of assists. I also tend to get fed early on, but I'm not sure of where to go from here. I feel like all the advantage we gain by me being fed, slowly begins to taper off because I'm getting all of the kills and my team doesn't seem to get them, it tends to make me strong and feel like a powerhouse, but we still lose more often than win. I'm still working on my last hitting, while trading to trade/poke. I tend to be able to make it through the first 15 minutes or so of the game with one - no deaths, and my deaths tend to accrue when I start pretending I can tank the enemy team as some sort of carry.

I'm playing better than I used to for sure, but how can I take advantage of this positive K/D ratio to advance my team further, and not just watch as I become a god, and they lag behind until I am knocked from my pedastool. (I'm exaggerating here).

What should I be thinking about in order to progress the team, and not just my kill count. I sometimes end games with 20/7/13 type K/D ratios, especially with AD carrys. What are the next steps? Thanks

Map Pressure - Pushing lanes, keeping up vision, catching out enemies, taking objectives especially. Lane Pressure - Harassing in lane, zoning them off, controlling the creep wave. If you take tower early, take another while they're busy taking yours still, let them overextend so you can pick up free kills and creep farms. CS - This should be the majority source of your income, practice it vigilantly.

Not dying is always the most important skill. If you're going to be the carry, you're going to have to stay alive and make sure you're not shut down. It's better to be 10/1 than 20/3.

apply pressure: be where they arent and take objectives, they will be forced to stop you because you are stronger than them supposedly, they will be forced to send more than 1 person. thats 1 or 2 people who are no longer bothering your team

roam: junglers are not the only ones who gank extending your strength to kill off anyone who is troubling your team is a big help even if they dont get the kill, they get both an assist and free farm while the other team falls behind

Prioritize objectives over kills. I can't tell you how many times I've seen my team mates die because instead of taking a tower or dragon, they wanted to chase a low health enemy to their fountain (an exaggeration, but it serves the point). More often than not, they didn't even get the kill and the rest of the enemy team was already respawned and we couldn't get anything out of it or worse, my low health team dies to a respawned enemy.

It's that kind of tunnel vision that'll make you lose games and think "but we were winning! We have 20 more kills than them!"

Kills don't win games, objectives do.

If you can get fed while taking objectives, awesome, not only are you denying the enemy team gold, you are giving your entire team a boost as well.

If you wanna duo with me (B3), I'm a pretty good WW jungle and Nasus top, perhaps I help you climb up.

As a powerhouse, ask your team to group with you and peel for you. You must stay alive if you have a lot of the kills.

Thanks for all of the great tips! It has really got me thinking a lot more about the decisions I'm making. I started practicing a 1v5 Bots and go bottom lane to focus on last hitting and harassing while trying to keep my cs. I have so much more gold in lane because of this. Honestly, when I put my focus on last hitting like this, I tend to go the entire laning phase without any accidental deaths, can usually score a kill or two(especially with jungle help), and tend to have more gold. I've finnaly converted to the fact that last hitting is more important than killing nonstop, and it changes the pace of the match for me. It helps me to think a lot more strategically. After starting to use pings I've noticed it's save my teams backside quite a few times. Your tips are gold thanks a ton! I'm not perfect with all of them, but it's defiantly changing my mindset. Funny enough, I've found duo queuing with friends seems to alleviate a lot of the problems as well, but we do even better since I'm not kill hungry any more and can coordinate objects much better. I finally grasp why dragon is so helpful as well. Thanks again!

Most of these are really good. The one about objectives is the most important imo. If you get a kill, what did that gain you? Gold is mostly irrelevant, if you are alive and the enemy is dead then you better get something else. A tower, baron/dragon, blue/red buff. Something. Otherwise you wasted your chance and eventually you'll die and the enemy players might not waste their chance.

Item spikes. It doesn't matter if you are up 3k gold if you already have 6 items. Or if you got 3 kills but it doesn't let you reach your next item spike. Unless you can (or are extremely low on resources) it's usually not worth it to go back and buy. Being the ADC, you absolutely want the kills, so I wouldn't feel too bad about getting a lot of the money. Just make sure you aren't wasting that by buying really inefficient gear. Infinity Edge -> Statikk Shiv -> Last Whisper, ect. The buy order matters, too, because Inf Edge causes the Crit % on Statikk to be worth more and the LW is later so you can punch through people who bought armor.

You'll want to look up stuff for specific champions, just remember that each character has slightly different values for the stats they use and making the best of your gold total (at the time) will give you more of a leg up and keep you in the game longer.

I don't really play Ranked, but I think I can give some input.

-Learn what kind of strategic positioning is good positioning -Command your team to take those positions

For example, if 1 enemy is pushing into your inner bottom tower, and 2 of your team champions are in the jungle nearby, ping assists/target-champion to get them to kill him.

Another example: If jungle ganks bot and you secure a decisive double kill with all of your team champions alive, ping assist at Dragon and take a quick dragon.

Another example: If your outer towers are down and one of your allies is farming lane, without sight wards in the jungle giving sight to possible ambush paths the enemy can take (see example 1), ping caution/back to him.

Another example: If all 5 enemy champions are gathered in mid lane, and you and 2 other champions are dancing around mid lane while the other 2 are off top and in jungle, ping back to discourage your team from taking a bad engage.

I think the best way is to see you in game in action before I can give a solidified advice. Add me in game, I can help you while duoing with you.

I gave that tip to many new players but it worked for me so well...

Set a game with 2-3 bots and jungle until your first tower get down. Now do what it takes to win the game.

This is good because you have no choice but to start prioritizing your objectives correctly.

Thanks for all the replies. I think the next two changes I need to make are 1. Be willing to ping to take objectives with my team, and 2. To really change my mindset from bloodthrist on kills to taking advantage and taking an objective instead of worrying about killing the enemy team all of the time. Map awareness as well. Thanks for all the tips, I'll see how they work out for me!
