Kindred Jungle Build Recommendation is Wrong?!?

Ok, so Kindred Kindred has been released to the world and people are turning into COMPLETE ASSHOLES over picking them in normal blind pick.

That was expected.

However, I have come to believe that the Recommended build suggestion need some serious tweaking.

The starting items are: item 1039 Hunter's Machete item 2003 Health Potion item 3340 Warding Totem

Personally, Kindred should start with item 3341 Sweeping Lens since they start off so slow and need the extra few seconds of surprise, but that's just me.

Essential Items: item 3713 Ranger's Trailblazer with Devourer

STOP, first problem. It's already well know than kindred isn't the best ganker because they don't have a fast gap close other than their Q. So why wouldn't we take advantage of an item that turns smite into a slow to help Kindred out a bit?

Replace item 3713 Ranger's Trailblazer with item 3706 Stalker's Blade. We gain access to Chilling Smite, a helpful slow to give Kindred more time to close in and start the attack with a bit of damage before setting up for the kill. Kindred's kit allows fast clearing without using smite at all and if needed, just target the biggest monster and be done with it. I would still stick with the Devourer Enchantment since it procs with both Kindred's passive and the passive of the next item.

item 3153 Blade of the Ruined King

An absolute buy. Necessary for Kindred in my opinion

item 3006 Berserker's Greaves

Haven't figured out a replacement for these yet, because the attack speed boost is helpful, though I would consider the item 1300 Furor or item 1301 Alacrity enchantments in order to boost Kindred's chasing and kiting ability.

Now here's where things go wrong.

The Offensive Items suggested are: item 3078 Trinity Force item 3035 Last Whisper item 3087 Statikk Shiv

item 3078 Trinity Force is a maybe to me, though very good for burst damage. That's a keep. I'm still not completely sold on item 3035 Last Whisper, but it'll do just fine.

The Statikk Shiv I whole-heartedly disagree with. Kindred maybe marketed as an Marksmen Jungler, but 99% of the time they are most effective as an Assassin. Even considering Lamb's Respite, I believe Kindred works better when laying out huge amounts of BURST damage rather than SUSTAINED damage. Critical Strikes on top of the percent-health damage from Kindred's and BOTRK's passives melt life away at a rate much faster than Statikk Shiv provides and possibly greater than Trinity Force.

My recommendations For Offensive Items are:

item 3142 Youmuu's Ghostblade item 3031 Infinity Edge item 3035 Last Whisper or item 3071 Black Cleaver

Now we have very good critical strikes from Youmuu's and IE, armor penetration from Youmuu's and Last Whisper or armor shred, extra health, Rage speed boost, AND cooldown reduction if you choose BC and Youmuu's, PLUS Youmuu's active which increases attack and movement speed. AND you still add 30 AD to your damage pile. At the very least, Statikk Shiv and Youmuu's could be used together as a relacement for IE and Trinity Force, keeping BC for the damage, health and Rage passive.

The final build i tested (in custom games because getting Kindred in Normal blinds right now is an exercise in frustration and being plain mean) is:

item 3930 Stalker's Blade with Sated Devourer item 3153 Blade of the Ruined King item 1301 Alacrity enchanted Berserker's Greaves item 3031 Infinity Edge item 3142 Youmuu's Ghostblade item 3071 Black Cleaver item 3341 Sweeping Lens

This build holds up very well in the mid game with just the first three items and builds burst power considerably once YG, IE and BC (in any order) are added. I play Kindred like an Assassin, striking down one or two targets from the flank rather than striking from behind tanks and bruisers. Kindred's AA range is too short to do much else, making any attempt to stay in a prolonged engagement turn against them very quickly.

Your Thoughts?

P.S. This is my first post and kinda long, so at least try to be kind?

I prefer the Trailblazer to be honest. It's nice sustain and makes for great clutch heals. Stalker's just doesn't seem that great in comparison because they're already so mobile. I also prefer Tri Force over IE as well because the empowered AA's are better, but that's just my opinion.

Sweeping lense is pretty much pointless early game for any champion unless you intend to invade. Almost nobody has a ward out more than a fraction of the time (except if bot lane gets a sightstone really early) and the range is so pitiful you're better off relying on Raptor buff for your ward clearing. Wait to get Sweeper until after a few backs.

Trailblazer>Stalkers because slows don't stack, so the stalker slow will just overlap with your E active, and the MS is pretty overrated with how mobile Kindred is during a gank. You also really need the sustain and the clear speed helps with stacking.

BotRK is really good, no denying that.

After that, IMO it is most important to stack AS and Arpen because you aren't going to be relying on crits and high AD ratios, but instead on your massive % current health damage on-hit. I would agree with YGB, TBC, and LW, but I think IE is overrated for someone who is so heavily centered around on-hit physical damage. BT is another Item that would probably be really good because lifesteal, flat AD, and a lot of AS is a good combination.

Boots are the most situational, and I'd say usually get Merc Treads unless the enemy team is low on CC, then either Ninja Tabi or Zerks.

I actually do this item 3707 with scaling cdr runes. Like you said Kindred isn't the best ganker. With this I can gain early pressure. probably not kills but pressure for sure. with the pressure it gives me an easier and faster time to get this item 3153 and item 3006 . Still freelancing items after that though. Gonna try item 3025 next
